Also, the fact that Steve hasn't said anything immediately is really not a big deal. Like, he doesn't need to rush to every message board or social media outlet to declare what's going on with this figure. When it's time, we will find out. What happened to patience?

Why cancel something if you could just delay its release or move it to a later wave?
If thereās absolutely no way this thing is happening anytime soon, that suggests Savage will not be available to them for the foreseeable future.
A lapse seems unlikely because Savage is one of the biggest remaining names Mattel has access to under a Legends deal.
With the Savage estate becoming less and less exclusive to any one company, it makes me think maybe their asking price has changed.

His basics were decent. Especially the NS and FC ones. sting needs to come home so we can get ultimates maybe he just prefers to work for second rate companies Or he just likes to work and not unappreciated and underutilized |

Could be a contributing factor to the figureās cancellation, but I would expect Mattel to find a workaround for someone the caliber of Savage. |

One thing that is a spot of hope is Bill seemed pretty passionate about these UE remakes for their Mania 7 Defining Moments. I really do think that one way or another Bill and the team will find some way to release this so long as they have the ability to make Savage figures.

So without digging through pages, its assumed (not proven) that WWE/Mattel no longer has the rights to Macho Man... How does Mattel even function at this point? Between design flaws, spreadsheets using wrong parts and now they dont even know who is or isnt under contract or when they expire? I mean Id get it if it was Jazwares...but its Mattel, arguably the biggest toy company in the world. Itās comical. The figure was already delayed due to the manufacture, and now itās canceled. I really donāt think it has anything to do with licensing; I think itās just a production issue. Yeah, people are quick to jump that Mattel lost the rights but people are quick to forget that UE 18 was already delayed once so it seems to be an issue with production that wasnāt worked out in time. Another delay to the wave in order to sort it out will probably affect release dates of the next wave. Also IF Mattel lost the macho man rights (which I donāt think is the case) it would more likely be to Powertown (who already have the rights to Randy Poffo)then jazzwares, who have dropped the ball on legends thus far . |

The figure was delayed two months ago (RSC emailed me May 10th). I don't expect Steve to rush to the board (or anyone that works for Mattel), especially since he does this on his free time. If there was ever a time though, it would be this scenario since Macho is huge name and they notified the retailers that it was cancelled. He knows how this place is and that we would be freaking out. |
