Is anyone else super interested to see if this question comes up in the Q&A. If not, we know Steve didn't want it asked -- so we probably have the answer

These were literally supposed to ship, so you have to assume there is a LOT of these figures sat vaulted somewhere? Which is crazy to think aboutā¦what chances that a couple get into peopleās hands?

I think half the people on this board work for Mattel or want to the way the excuses are constantly made here. It's so unintentionally funny.

If not, we know Steve didn't want it asked -- so we probably have the answer yeah but Iām worried it wonāt be asked and that watching the video will just be a waste of time but yeah no question or the generic corporate answer I feel will basically confirm itās the licensing which ing sucks. hopefully it was asked and the answer was āit had production issues and youāll see it in a future line-upā but thatās probably just wishful thinking unfortunately

"we stumbled into a couple of roadblocks in his contract and licensing" would be so much a better answer than "we would love to use him again if he ever becomes available" it's the new "we wish them the best in their future endeavours"

A few people, including the usual suspects, got hold of Strongbow before he was pulled, so this wouldnāt be surprising at all.

If that's the case, they should have been able to use the line "it's too far into production for us to stop now..." correct?

Perhaps I'll make a thread to get some opinions.

Sigh, I'm pulling the trigger on those extra Macho's. Better safe than sorry. Somehow, some way, some day, we will reinstate the Macho Man.

I could easily be wrong about this, but I believe to prevent this from happen, they literally destroy the figures rather than vaulting or putting in a warehouse.

Mattel doesnāt unilaterally make decisions with WWEās intellectual property without their input. The same is true when people question why a figure looks a certain way or has a certain attire and Steve references, ālicensor input.ā Mattel doesnāt make these decisions in a vacuum.

I did wonder if they maybe destroy them but that might depend on how quickly/confident they are of getting the licence back. I know Mattel arenāt short of a few dollars but these must have been fully manufactured, thatās a lot of product to waste and destroy. Find it hard to believe that nobody out there has any of these or that some havenāt fallen through the net.

How do you know they can't? That was the "line" given as the reason when asked about how the Warlord and Berzerker figures made it out a few years ago. When the lawsuit came out and WWE asked them to cancel/stop making figure of all wrestlers in the lawsuit, they did, but Warlord and Berzerker made it out because "they were too far along in production to stop". Others who weren't "too far along" were cancelled, I believe Koko B. Ware and the Barbarian were two of them. Maybe Warlord and Berzerker were much further along than this UE Macho King, but that is why people think that.

If WWE even terminated the Legends contracts for people that sued (they could have just let the contract play out without releasing merch), they could have waited until after merch that was in production was released. I do think that Koko was further along since he went up for preorder, but I think he was the first that sued that had a figure coming out relatively soon. I think the production rule started after that (and maybe even because of that scenario - ie Mattel being pissed that they had to cancel a figure that was almost released).

C'mon guys, don't worry or care about anything, especially stuff like figures you want getting cancelled. Just consume what is available.

They may have paused production early enough - and now, enough time has passed - to warrant the cancellation. Can't just keep a figure staged for production in "waiting to see" status that could take years....
