...does he own a toy shop? If not, I wouldn't pay much attention to him. I have a feeling a bidding war broke outā¦ "I'LL PAY TWICE AS MUCH!"

I know people say "we got a lot of Macho," and comparatively speaking we were very lucky to get around 20 elites of him. Though the more I look at it, it's kinda disappointing to see the overall lack of New Gen and WCW looks for Savage. I know Golden Era is where the bread is buttered, but as someone who's starting a loose collection by era, the options for his mid and later years feel very limited.
NEW GEN SAVAGE ELITES/ULTIMATES 2018 RetroFest Series 1 2022 Ultimate Mattel Creations Exclusive
WCW SAVAGE ELITES/ULTIMATES 2012 Ringside Exclusive (Black and White) 2015 Elite 38 2016 Ringside Exclusive (Wolfpac) 2017 Then, Now, Forever 2019 SDCC Exclusive 2022 Ultimate Legends
On first glance 6 WCW figures isn't too bad, but if you're a loose collector in 2023 forget about either RSC Exclusive & Slim Jim Macho. Very few new people are buying the New Gen Ultimate and cracking it open. So it is definitely a shame, especially now that we see Mattel turning over every Hulk Hogan era known to mankind. You can say we got enough Golden Era Macho, I'd still argue we missed a lot of key moments there too, but his later career was not as fleshed out as it should have been. It was usually tied to some kind of special line or exclusive.

The closest thing is the WM10 attire, but itās black and white, and the tights are more what heās known for in WCW than WWF. Mattel definitely dropped the ball. A lot of figs but very few felt complete. And for some reason they never reused the only head that REALLY looked like him (the WM8 fig)

Imagine thinking a company ādropped the ballā because they didnāt make versions that YOU wanted them to.
Between Elites, Basics and Ultimatesā¦ they covered every era of Randy Savage. He wasnāt going to be in every series of every line. Every iconic attire of his was made in figure form.

Now Sting they 100% dropped the a ball with. Macho was a solid B+ level guy, but to deserve being every wave of every line you need to be on Stingās A+ level. There you go MKSavage did you think I wasnāt going to reply to your shots fired gif saying I was being Sarcastic? Me!? Sarcastic! Pa-LEASE!!!!

Imagine being such a suck up you donāt care about the execution of them. As long as itās quantity thatās fine, right? Who cares that almost all of his elites were incomplete?

Yes, thereās imperfections. Still by far the best versions weāve ever gotten from any company. Every company has imperfections. Especially with action figures. Things get overseen, or donāt fit into the budget set. This isnāt news anymore. If they donāt meet your standards, simply donāt buy them. Thereās plenty of other figures to collect, WWE/Mattel or not.

As someone who buys almost nothing outside a select few favs (macho being one of them), the execution on the bulk of these was sadly poor and Savage deserved better.

I mean....we still have ZERO official confirmation of anything. All of this is speculation.

I don't get that take either, unless my 401(k) was all in on Mattel stock.

I donāt know if these folks are paid to defend corporate decisions to the death or theyāre just that much of a mark. Either way, itās stupid.

Hes had the same awful take for 10+ years on this site. He is right though. Bill & Steve have a budget. So they canāt give Savage every piece of clothing he wore with the attires. Iāll give you the undersized head he had until E24(?) but other than that Machoās figures have been good for the budget of the waves theyāve been in.

Itās not a ābad takeā. Itās a realistic observation. Sorry that I have an understanding that toys sometimes arenāt exactly what I want them to be. Sometimes theyāre better than what I hope for. All in all if Iām not not satisfied enough with whatās produced, I wonāt spend my money on it.
Now if itās early stages and thereās something that CAN be fixed or fixed for the future, sure. Make it known, but to act like a company hasnāt offered the best version possible with maybe some flawsā¦ is asinine. 9/10 times thereās legitimate, logical reasons for these flaws.
āSavage deserved betterā. Yes, Iām sure his family are absolutely outraged that they didnāt create his attire that he wore at some house show in 1989 in action figure form. Cāmon now. š¤£š¤£

Savage got great figures, comparatively speaking, but customers absolutely have a right to be frustrated when they've shown that they can flawlessly execute a figure with full detail, but choose not to in many instances. I'm somewhere in the middle, I understand that not everything is catered just to me and what I want and price-point is a factor. I was okay with WM39 Savage not coming with the entrance jacket, I would have preferred it, but I understand.
What's really frustrating in this particular moment is WE WERE ABOUT TO GET THE MOST COMPLETE, DEFINITIVE RANDY SAVAGE FIGURE OF ALL TIME! There were no notes. The jacket was perfect, the soft goods shirt was coming, the faces looked right, it was all there. It set up the possibility that WM8, SummerSlam 92, some of his wackier commentator looks could all be executed as they should be. You can say Randy got some really quality figures and also say Mattel was only scratching the surface on what they were capable of for him execution-wise.

I'll be the one to say it, but I'm okay. The last Macho I bought was the WCW Target exclusive and it was more or less what I wanted for my collection. There's some other Macho's I've wanted throughout the years, but nothing drastic imo. Sucks for those who had this figure on preorder and were really looking forward to more Macho's. I wouldn't mind if we didn't get any more Warriors either, but that's more to see the meltdown on the forums lol.

I would have loved an Ultimate trunks era Randy with a dope robe but Iām not going to lose sleep over it. Have three very solid Macho figures in the collection. Sucks out of the āmajor threeā, the one I actually want more figures of is the one that we might not get more of.

WWF Savage does seem like a budget nightmare. From his entrance robes, to his king/cowboy attires that require multiple deco hits, plus a shirt, plus a jacket with streamers. Thereās a reason we didnāt get as many of his most iconic looks as we wanted and when we did they werenāt always complete.
