I’m more bummed about potentially losing the Colosseum Collection Savage. CC is currently my favorite series and this sort of derails it by creating one of the biggest possible holes is the series on name value alone. This is almost as bad as not having Hogan. Also, I have enough late-era ultimate Savages. I can honestly say that at this point Savage and Liz were my most wanted CC set. Now we either won’t get Liz at all or they’ll throw her in some random set, probably with another manager since George Steele was the only other logical choice.
That said, CC is so infrequent that it’s entirely possible and hopeful that he’s back in one of next year’s sets.

I doubt they could do a bunch of mini LJN figs but maybe print them on the inside and give Liz a mini fig of herself.

That said, CC is so infrequent that it’s entirely possible and hopeful that he’s back in one of next year’s sets. I do think it's very possible he's back by then, but yeah I find myself in a similar position. When the new Defining Moments set and UE18 Macho were shown at Axxess I planned out a whole Defining Moments sub-collection for myself that's supposed to include all the new DM's with the re-releases. Bought the four pack, bought UE15 Warrior, tracked down chase UE16 Razor, and then the lynchpin of my entire collection gets cancelled. I'll continue on for a bit hoping we eventually get it, but any line that should have Macho Man is destined to feel incomplete without him. When I start collecting a specific line my number one rule is "will Macho Man be made in this set?" Jakks Classic Superstars are something I grew up on and are great for their era, but if my favorite wrestler of all time isn't in the line, it doesn't make me want to buy it.

It's true that they would continue to sell things they already have released unless it's a "cancel," situation. The Raw/SD intro is kinda interesting to me though. I'm starting to feel all speculated-out, but what's one more? If WWE was being petty with the Savage estate, I have to say it would be very like them to casually drop him from the opening. He actually wasn't even in the opening until fairly recently (something that always drove me nuts). WWE will almost always take the stance of "if we're not currently in business with you, we're not promoting your existence." They have so many people they could put in it that they are promoting, I acknowledge the "why wouldn't they do that?" If they continue to leave him in, that would signal to me that if there isn't a current deal, WWE would still like for there to be one in the future. While that is generally their MO, the existence of first the Network and now Peacock has altered that in the sense that a major part of their business strategy at this point is always promoting everyone. Now obviously you have situations where they steer away from people they deem controversial (Hogan for a period, Flair for a period, etc.) or who are actively on bad terms/working for competition (Punk, Jericho, Bryan, etc.) but someone like Macho who's deceased and not at the center of any current scandal is someone they're still monetizing and promoting through the library even if they're not in an active merchandise deal with them. (Not saying you're wrong. In fact I agree that them not being petty is a sign they want to revisit the deal in the future, perhaps after the sale is complete.)

C'mon guys, don't worry or care about anything, especially stuff like figures you want getting cancelled. Just consume what is available. I keep seeing people say stuff like this, but I've never actually anyone say people shouldn't worry or care or etc.

I think a lot of this could be because of the sale. All speculative and anecdotal on my part, but some of the more off-beat choices Mattel made at Comic Con gave off that vibe to me as well. I get that it's a neat niche figure, but Fake Diesel in MNW Series 2?! In a line that's going to be tough for people to hunt down? Why not any of the 50-100 legends from the Attitude Era that would drive collectors crazy trying to find it? One of the reasons could be that the mayor is firmly under contract. Why after the last few years of smashing BAFs did they put Nicholas in the WM40 set of all things? All of those "holy crap!" pulls may be much harder to license at this time.

I think the sale has a lot to do with it. If WWE is in the midst of a hiring freeze at the moment on the talent side until things are finalized, which by all accounts they are, then it seems like that they might affect new and expediting legends deals as well, at least on some level.

So many funny memories Some days I miss our insider 😢, for all his many many many, glaring, obvious faults he at least made things exciting at times. It was awesome. The fact that he was convinced he was a godsend to the boards all while being the biggest bunghole possible was quality content. I’ll never forget he sent me a PM after my first interaction with him where all I did was say it didn’t matter if he had actual insider info or not, he’s not gonna make any friends acting the way he did and he proceeded to send me a novel saying to keep his name out of my mouth and if I liked being here I needed to take his advice because he’d get me banned. I guess we see how all that worked out for him..

I guess we see how all that worked out for him.. My favorite part was the obvious schizo ramblings about us gang stalking and conspiring in DMs against him. Oh and who could forget him believing Jeremy was trashing him in my Twitter DMs while I was trying to prove a point how easy it was to fake them 🤣.
