It’ll never happen but I’d love if you guys ever got Lauper. That would pop like crazy on a shelf.

Man, by their avoidance of the question the few times I've asked, I'm afraid their non-answer is their answer. It appears they're sticking with the black and white eyes. Disappointed for sure, but also surprised that I'm seemingly in the minority with that being an issue for me. Not sure why they didn't at least go with a brownish color, which is what many LJNs have if they don't have blue or green. Could be wrong, but I don't believe a single one had black. Ugh.. Edit: okay, it looks like there are a few LJNs. I stand corrected.
Now that I got that off my chest, I can't recall the status of Tony Atlas. After watching the Mr. McMahon Netflix show, I would love to see him in BRG form. Hopefully he's one of the 4 or 5.

After you pointed it out, the eye issue does feel like an area that could continue to have improvement to me too. Not a major issue to me though. The pale skin tones for Slaughter and Andre were a bigger deal for me. Recent releases since seem to have improved that, luckily.

I don’t see why it isn’t being addressed unless it turned out to be too big of an issue. If they are all hand painted, that is a decent opportunity for a larger margin of error leading to wonky eyes. It also costs you more time if you are waiting for hundreds/thousands of figures to dry.

I should clarify: I don’t have any information that they are hand painted outside of the prototypes. What I was trying to say is that I couldn’t see a reason for them not to be improved upon unless hand painting were the only other option in which case that volume of figures would be a huge QC concern.

Cardona explained before that the fishnets on the Effy Bendie had to have some hand painting involved

Assumed he was joking. Thats why I did the lol. But it does give quite the visual. For that to be even possible I would think they would have to be using molded stencil kits for certain parts of the figs, with high quality air brushing equipment.

That’s what I’ve always thought … there’s no way each one could be individually hand painted & come out looking identical the way they do … I’d say the prototype for each figure might be hand painted but that’s about it

Hand painting would have been the only reason for not making this improvement (and eyes wouldn’t have made sense to do given the QC nightmare they would create). You could also say it might be a financial reason but I don’t feel like the Major brand is known for going cheap so I very much ruled that out immediately. ZST, FC, and I’m sure others do have to have hand-painted details added at times so it isn’t that far fetched.

I just assumed it was all done with machining, with some sort of special process for the paint application to get it to stick. I do like learning about the behind the scenes stuff, very interesting to me.

Does anyone have a clue if the New York/New Jersey ports strike will impact PoP/Dusty or beyond shipments... This is purely just a guess on my part, but I assume the BRGs travel from the factory via ship to the west coast and then by land to North Bergen NJ where Kanik then mails them out. NY/NJ ports shouldn’t have any affect on this, but I could be way off here.

Im paraphrasing because i dont know what page the response is on. but he said they are aware of the issue and have talked to the factory about the eyes and requested them to be more dimensional but they (the factory) dont fix it.

I may have missed it, but I'm pretty sure you're thinking about the reply which I quoted again on page 106, but that was a reply to me asking about how the Demolition eyes were flat with little detail, not specifically mentioning eye color, but I can see how the word detail could be taken to also mean color. I've since asked a few times specifically about eye color (anything other than black) only because I think it would make them more life-like, but of course, just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, there are some pretty badly done eyes in the LJN line, but then there are some really nicely done ones. IMO the best are those with three colors (white background > brown, blue, or green eye color in largest circle > smaller black circle > then tiny white circle). The eyes have gotten more rounded in later BRG series which is great, but I'm still curious about the color I guess. I didn't think his reply was speaking about color though, because I don't recall any digital renders or hand-painted prototypes ever having any eye color to begin with.

I understand your very specific request about specific eye color but i interpreted his response about the eyes in general being an issue and regardless of there request to the factory to fix them its not being done. Im sure based on everything else with this line that they know eye detail is important and needs to be fixed. I doubt they are just ignoring your request. Personally other than the flat eyes on demolition ive not noticed or cared or would even be able to tell the different dot color of the eyes

Nice progress pic. Not sure if I missed it or if this is new news but that TNA tag belt looks nice (as do the others).
