Jannetty is a Day 1 order for me. Slaughter and Flair are HUGE names, but with limited space and budget, I’m sticking to 1985-89 WWF, LJN era. Still though, great roster developing! I can’t wait for Andre and to see who else will be in his wave. You do know that Sgt. is based off my prototype for the unreleased Series 1 right? This isn’t a WWF return fig. You got me on “based on prototype.” Ordered!

I didn't realize Slaughter was such a big demand for LJN fans. I hope it sells well He was unreleased in Series 1

In case there is any confusion, Slaughter fits in well with the series 1 era as he was one of the WWF’s top stars. If you go back and look, Snuka and Slaughter were WWF’s hottest acts pre-Hogan. Yes Backlund was Champion but he wasn’t setting the world on fire nor was he going to be the merchandise machine Vince Jr. wanted. Before his falling out with the WWF over the GI Joe deal, Sgt. Slaughter was on the cover of THREE of the first seven issues of WWF Magazine. That’s an even bigger deal back then as they were not yet a monthly publication. http://instagram.com/p/CCHa7bPJ2Ew http://instagram.com/p/CTN9fc9MMuN http://instagram.com/p/Conm7g1uF0m Sarge was in the thick of things and probably would have had some all-time storylines in the early Mania days had he not chosen the other path. It all worked out in the end as he became a household name and cultural icon. Bonus reading courtesy of the good people over at Wrestling Figure Database: “In 1987, Hasbro released a Wrestling Superstars-inspired Sgt. Slaughter figure as a mailaway. It, seen alongside LJNs in the advertisement below, is commonly considered "part" of the LJN Wrestling Superstars line—even though it's certainly not. What most don’t know, however, is that Sgt. Slaughter was slated for the very first set of LJNs in 1984. Courtesy of Matt Cardona, see the prototype on the left, alongside the released version of Hasbro Sgt. Slaughter.” Source: wrestlingfiguredatabase.com/products/hasbro-ljn-sgtslaughter

Nice reference photos! I think, for me, my main 2 ongoing lines now are Big Rubber Guys and Mattel Coliseum Collection. Other than those lines, I may pick up occasional other figs, such as Star Wars Black Series Ewoks (if they do more), Marvel Legends Sabretooth (if they get his Jim Lee/animated size and look right), and Zombie Sailor 6 inch of specific guys such as Bundy (depending on cost- has that been announced?). Big Rubber Guys is definitely in my top 2!
Question, though, do you think the timing of getting them in hand will remain about what it is now, or speed up? It’s still much better than many Indy toys, for sure, but we’d have 2 waves of preorders before getting Demolition at the current projected window. Not complaining, just wondering what the plans/goals are. Thank you!

Good questions. If I can piggyback off of yours - is there a plan in place for Chinese New Year so that it doesn’t majorly disrupt the current release schedule?

He didn’t wear that in WWF.

I think we’ve proved over the past two years that we deliver. That’s why I’m comfortable letting fans pre-order.

Matt, now there’s a really nice collection of figures have you thought about a ring to display them in or do you think you’ll stick to just the figures?
Loving the line by the way and also your business model e.g. putting your own resources into development, no long waits, great communication, great product etc

FINALLY, an LJN-Style Slaughter that I can afford! Beyond stoked for the Jannetty and Flair, also. Thank you, VintageFigs1! Pre-ordered my set, and can't wait!

Wow, so if I’m reading you right, the goal would be to get one wave in-hand before the next goes up for preorder? That would be great! Is Demolition still likely for November, or is that already getting sped up? Thank you truly for your responsiveness!

Chinese New Year slows everything down. There is no plan to avoid that. You can’t avoid Chinese New Year. I was thinking more along the lines of trying to produce more characters ahead of schedule so that they could be in your team’s hands and available to ship during the slowdown. Not that I have anything specific in mind; I’m always curious what options have been explored and weighed.
