Right now, up in the heavens, Mean Gene is standing at the golden gates with a microphone in his hand, with Nikolai Volkoff and Classy Freddie Blassie standing there, and Sheiky looks at Mean Gene and says, "Gene Mean, I am home now." And then goes and hugs Nikolai.
R.I.P. Iron Sheik. You had such heartache in your life after your daughter was killed. I don't think you ever got over that nor should you have.
We will miss you greatly!

I missed his 80s run, but man what a character. He always came across as a guy that loved life and loved having fun, the documentary about him was great too, for such a fearsome heel, he was a real family man.
I love this story that Marty Jannetty tells about the Shiek, I am in no way condoning or making light of assault or anything like that, but the way Marty tells this story is hilarious, "She not know how to work"

I just watched his documentary yesterday. Rest in Peace. I just watched the A&E one on Sunday. So good! RIP Sheik. He probably could have had a longer run at with the WWF title. They had Backlund, Hogan, Sarge, and others who could have challenged him for the belt before dropping it to Hogan. |

a true legend of the sport. he was my 1st ljn figure.
i didnt see much of hiss early sinlges run, but was a HUGE fan of sheik/volkoff tag team. they were a very tough team. they had the bulldogs number too lol

I used to wreak havoc on my little brothers when we were younger with the camel clutch. Sadly, they both outgrew me but as their older brother I might have to refresh their memories one time for the Sheik baby! RIP to a LEGEND and 🤬 the Hulk Hogan

I used to wreak havoc on my little brothers when we were younger with the camel clutch. Sadly, they both outgrew me but as their older brother I might have to refresh their memories one time for the Sheik baby! RIP to a LEGEND and 🤬 the Hulk Hogan people dont realize moves like camel clutch, torture rack and the figure four really hurt and i also used to use pro wrestling moves on dudes/brothers/cousinsin in amateur wrestling and BJJ classes lol |
