Mattel Creations Cody Rhodes is Shipping

I had 1 more I was waiting on. I called today and they told me it shipped 2 days ago. Never got a shipping confirmation or notice from creations. So it’s possible they could have shipped it and they never notified or marked it as fulfilled.

Mine showed up today! I did get a shipping notice in advance, sat for a week and finally moved yesterday and arrived today.

I’ve emailed Mattel twice since checking the status of my Cody and seeing it saying canceled. Still haven’t heard anything back. But I just got home and had a package at my door, and it was my MC Cody. No tracking or any type of email. But I have him so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.

Haha, glad I was able to help. Yeah it’s crazy they’re sending stuff out without any type of notification. Hopefully they can improve on a lot of things next time.

It’s great you all are getting your Cody figures finally albeit without notification

Finally opened my Cody, and I must say I find myself conflicted on this figure, especially in comparison to the AEW Supreme (which fairly or not it’s always going to be compared to)





The Good:

-2/3 heads blow the Supreme heads out of the water. (We’ll get to the one that doesn’t).
-I really like this body for Cody.
-The packaging is fantastic. really feels like a special, exclusive piece.

The Bad:

-The attire color. What else can I say that hasn’t been said? This is just completely off. In person/normal light, it’s not quite as mustard yellow as some photos. That said it’s sure as hell not the right gold. Just a total swing and a miss.
-The coat. Comparing this to the Supreme is Exhibit A of what I’ve been yelling about for years: When it comes to heavily-detailed attire pieces, molded plastic blows soft goods out of the water, especially since interchangeable arms became an option. I REALLY hope the inevitable next Ultimate Cody uses a molded jacket.





-The screaming head is not great by any means, and is the only one that’s inferior to the Supreme. Which personally annoys me as that would be my preference in how to display Cody if it was a better head.
-Cody is missing his ring finger tattoo, which is a tiny omission, but still.



In the middle:

-I’m torn on the neck tattoo. On the one hand, I know having parts of the tattoo on Cody’s face is closer to reality. On the other hand, it just doesn’t translate well to a toy IMO. I think I prefer the Jazwares “all on the neck” execution.



This may seem like I dislike the figure more than I like it, but that’s not quite the case. Once I narrowed down the recipe for how I wanted to display the figure (which head/hands/etc.) I actually like it well enough, especially since the coat when closed really covers the pants color. I still overall prefer the Supreme, and this figure feels more like a dress rehearsal for a better Ultimate Cody in the future, I am glad I got this one and it’s currently in the front row of my Ultimate display (though it will admittedly likely slide to the back quickly).

This biddy is officially in my hands. Delivery person put it in a conspicuous place that could've led to my package being neglected or picked, but it turned out fine.
