Two of the biggest & best ever… who you going with?
I love both guys and they are easily two of my fav ever but I’m going with Rock now but I’ll pick HBK another day… both had epic careers with many great moments.
The biggest dream match for me ffs… it would have been a classic!! Two legends who was on top in the 90s 2000s even loved in the 2010s & 2020s… seeing these guys matches & promos will never get old.

HBK. All around better in the world of pro wrestling.
Dwayne Johnson action movie star > The Rock to me personally. Though from Survivor Series 1998 to Wrestlemania 15, he was a fantastic heel. Same with his Hollywood Rock run. Never a big babyface Rock fan though.

As a Bret/Austin guy this one is pretty tough.
I'll go with Shawn Michaels just because there have been way more HBK matches that are on the all-time list. The Rock is the superior mic man for sure though and had some classics as well.

How can you do this to me?
I want to just flat out say Shawn Michaels, but it is not that simple and this is pretty damn close. Shawn Michaels is my favorite of all time, but I think had he been more willing to work with people it would not even be up for debate if he was the greatest of all time. Looking back these days, it is hard to ignore the number of titles that he did not lose properly or his hissy fits and unprofessional attitude during matches. He had great matches for sure before his comeback in 02, but I think it is his 02 run that really cemented his legacy as he was much more willing to actually work with people.
The Rock on the other hand I think has mic skills that no one else could touch when it comes to interactivity with a crowd and keeping them in the palm of his hand. Plus, I say this all the time, his ring skills were fantastic, Rock 99/100 had exciting matches and he was never scared to take the loss when it helped move the story along.
I am going for Shawn Michaels, but he is getting like 51 percent of my vote and the Rock 49 so it was very, very close.

HBK gave us better in ring stuff but as far as entertainment goes? only Austin is ahead of Rock for me. Thats not a knock on Rocks in ring stuff either....for me he had as many bangers as HBK did.

It's hard to put an 8 year career over a 25 year one but I'm still going with The Rock. Him and Stone Cold are my top two babyfaces of all time.
There's an elite list of entertainers and while HBK may be one of the flashiest superstars responsible for some of the greatest entrances and matches ever, he's no match for Rock when it comes to the pure entertainment of the millions, AND MILLIONS of pro-wrestling fans across the world on a LIVE stage. Better in the ring of course but they couldn't be farther apart on in-ring styles. Apples to oranges imo. Rock was no Kurt Angle but he was no slouch either managing to pull good matches out of Big Show, Mankind, Hogan, Undertaker and nearly a decade after retiring, John Cena. All greats but also none of them have ever been considered to be great mat wrestlers. I can watch either of their old matches with ease bc while Shawn was more technical and smooth moving around the ring like a work of art, Rock was faster paced and more of a brawler to match the edginess of the attitude era that birthed his meteoric rise. Rock was also more willing to make other stars and take a pin than Shawn ever was. Anything before Rock leaving the Nation I give to HBK and anything beyond Rock leaving to Hollywood for good I give to HBK. Shawn Michaels longevity is matched only by Taker and his in ring ability is matched by nearly none but my favorite is still my favorite 🤷🏻♂️

i loved the rock as a kid, and i can't stand young shawn michaels, but there's no denying hbk was one of the absolute best to ever do it skill wise.

Rock. Greatest sports entertainer of all time. He wasn’t the best in the ring but knew how to capture the crowd in the palm of his hands.
I never saw HBK as the greatest in-ring performer ever as a lot do. He was one of the best, but I’d pick guys like Bret and Kurt over HBK anyway as an all around performer.

Going with Rock. I love HBK in the ring but I've never been a fan of his character/personality really. Rock had some fantastic matches but his character was just so damn good so he wins it for me.
