He could have also injured more people with his lack of stamina and precision, no thanks.

Year long title reign instead of JBL Goldberg feuding with a newly-returned “Deadman” Undertaker in 2004 would have been great. A feud with Angle around that time would have been good too. Goldberg vs Taker & Goldberg vs Angle would have been good stuff

Bringing him in 2 years after WCW closed down probably cooled off his drawing power even moreso after how sucky WCW was the last couple years. Other than that, I think him only signing the 1 year deal had a major factor in how that all played out. Had he signed a 2-3 year deal I think he probably mows down Rock a a couple others and by Summerslam he beats HHH Goldberg should’ve won that chamber match and it’s one of the dumber booking decisions wwe has made when handling a star, kinda like Mania 39. WWE will want to swerve fans when it’s obvious something is gonna happen, but they seemingly only do that when it’s something the fans wanna see. If everyone knows something is coming and the fans don’t want it, WWE will go with the obvious and usually double down. This has been spoken about by Bruce Prichard. Basically Triple H had a groin tear going into the Chamber match, hence the biker shorts look he had for like 3 months. So they were looking to drop the belt to Goldberg at the Chamber. However, the company were going on an international tour immediately following and Goldberg refused to go. Being their champion, it was a non-negotiable. So he declined and that gave him heat. Triple H was part of creative back then and said the time wasn't right to put the belt on Goldberg, and he could work around the injury. So he kept the belt for another month and only worked tag matches. Goldberg's unwillingness to be a company man led to people souring on him.

That certainly ties things together and makes sense. Sounds like Goldberg was the main reason Goldberg wasn’t the hit WWE expected as well as most fans probably expected

Yeah even Goldberg himself has admitted that he wasn’t in the right mindset when he came in in 2003. It’s like he signed with the WWE despite not ever wanting to go (so why even sign in the first place). Bill did himself no favors, and that coupled with the WWE’s terrible booking was a recipe for disaster. Though I have listened to Pritchard’s podcast on Bill before and I still say that Bill should have won the chamber match. The fans were dying for it, and despite some rocky booking during his initial months, seemed to have a bit of momentum built. That all went away the moment he lost the chamber match and the rest of his run that year was less than stellar.

We should have gotten a proper rivalry with Goldberg/Kane and Goldberg/HBK... at least we did get em in one off matches tho.
We also finally got to see Goldberg vs Taker in 2019 hahaa
