And I can't wait to pay an extra $200 to see it, being an international customer. Since obviously the photos need to be printed in China, mailed to the US, then mailed to Europe. Though of course $100 of the amount is purely to cover the $50 customs charge. But if I order now perhaps I'll unlock the early bird photo of a new John Cena... well he has a new hat anyway.

Seriously though, I do hope Mattel can find another way to offer large playsets at some point in future. And more obscure Legends figures as well, names who would never sell through traditional channels. With advancements in 3D design and 3D printing, maybe one day "made-to-order" or "print-at-home" methods will become practical and realistic in terms of quality and costs. And while it's easy to make fun of crowdfunds failing, I know lots of people in the industry work hard on these projects and do their best. The majority of these people aren't to blame, and it's very hard to know the best way to approach these things or exactly what mix will ensure success.
