I would get the complaining about Nicholas if it were a figure taking up space in a line, but it's a Build-A-Figure. It's basically glorified accessories. For those who want it, cool. For Cone and family, cool. For those who don't want it, who could possibly care about "worst" case scenario having accessories to toss/sell/whatever? Even then it's equal to a waste of space |

I've felt like this year has been a bit of a letdown. I'd like to know the status of a y future crowdfund. I think that's what was missing this year, something to show off as a diorama to generate interest...but I dont think they're over the failed WCW crowdfund. No RAW stage.

The only figures I was hoping to see and didn't would be a new Paul Heyman and Pretty Deadly. yeah would be cool to see Pretty Deadly but maybe too early for them. Not too early for Roxanne Perez though, whose FTITL, elite release is only two series away...How utterly ridiculous. |

Her original basic figure was terrible and she is featured weekly on TV. |

I've done a 180 on Nicholas - I don't want/need any of the Wrestlemania XL set, so I'm actually happy it's a BAF I don't want. And it's cool if it's a BAF that some people (like Fighter Hayabusa's son) really want. It's cruel irony that the one and only time I wanted all the figures in a PPV set, I didnt actually want the BAF 😄 (last year's SummerSlam wave/toddler Dominic).

It’s so wild to me that the two driving points of this thread so far have been Becky Lynch, a person pushed as a big star being in a box set of pushed stars, and complaining about a Build-A-Figure that essentially amounts to extras accessories. Like there’s plenty of other positive and negative things to discuss. (For example, Nicholas being the BAF is probably the least annoying thing about that Mania 40 set) Interesting choice by Mattel to put such a amazing figure in a box set it does not really fit in with at all. should be a standalone elite really. |

From complaining about the likenesses (warranted) to the wait times for new characters, even to the overwhelming amount of store-exclusive sets, not much has truly changed in online discussion forums over the past 25+ years. One big difference between now and 25 years ago is there were so few soft goods and character-specific accessories included in the regular series. Packing chairs with singles figures was still a relatively new concept in ‘98. Ladders and tables weren’t all that prevalent for Jakks until ‘99. Cliche as it may sound, we’ve come so far in such a short span of time. |
