Two of the best in the business… the masters of the SharpShooter… who you going with?
It’s another hard one but I’m picking Bret right now… another day I’ll pick Sting. I’ve always loved both guys & I even liked seeing Bret in WCW lol, it was cool to see it tbh.
Both guys dominated the 90s, was doing good stuff in the 80s, two of WCW & WWFs biggest stars and it was great to see Sting continue in TNA, AEW & even join WWE finally… it also was cool seeing Bret return to WWE but if only he still wrestled from 2001 onwards…
Big respect to both legends.

Sting struggles in these matchups I feel due to having very poor creative for most of his career. If his booking & storylines had not been so foul for most of his run he would win more of these battles.

Sting is the reason I became a fan but Bret is the better wrestler.
My vote is still going to Sting though.

Man, this is a tough one. Two guys on my personal Mount Rushmore. When Savage went into announcing, Bret was my WWF guy while Sting was my WCW guy. Like The Brain said, these two wrestling in 1992-1994 would have been a dream matchup for me as well. With all that being said, I'm going to give the nod to Bret. Both were great, but Bret had better matches, so that gives him the win for me. |

Bret Hart was rad his whole career. Sting was only rad during his surfer era. Crow Sting sux.

Bret Hart. Greatest in ring performer of all time. No one's in ring work has aged as well as his has and he could pull a passable match out of even the worst wrestler.
I really like Sting too, but this is one that is not even close for me.

The only thing Sting didnt have was "the machine" behind him. Everyone says "If Vince had Sting there would be no Ultimate Warrior"...there likely wouldnt have been a Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels either.

In my life there’s only been three wrestlers I have been willing to stand in crowded lines to meet and they are Sting, Piper & Bret. So this is a tough one because Bret’s arguably the better in ring wrestler. But Sting’s arguably the greater star even without the WWE’s backing in his prime. So I have to go with Sting.
