Many have said that Mattel needs to release the The Steiner Brothers without much advertisment or hoopla and I completely understand that considering the circumstances. However one thing is for sure...The Steiner Brothers Tag Team Figures is a big freaking deal for middle age collectors of Elite and Ultimate products that make up around 70 percent of those lines sales. Just look at this year's Comic Con.. Mattel saved the legend reveals for last. My thing is I don't care if we only get one tag team set or if it's Elite or Ultimate. Why not slide the The Steiner Brothers into legends 22 with first time in the line Sultan and Captain Lou?? Nobody is a bigger Hulkamanic than me but that Japan Hulk Hogan is going to warm hard...it's all about the red and yellow for the majority of Hulk collectors ( Where the hell is Python Power Hulk??) Of course we could wait until ringside fest and make them exclusives to Ringside which wouldn't get much advertisment either. Either way.. getting The Steiners in at least one set is a big fing deal.

I guess at this point, Ringside fest. Maybe they’re the tag team this year that gets that yearly Ringside Ultimate Exclusive 2-pack.

If they don't show them Saturday ... I don't think we ever get them. Most people want them over Dog Face ... but the Gremlin got released first. You could argue more people want Big Poppa than old Scott but it'd be a very close vote. IMHO, Scott himself may be the reason. Maybe he doesn't like that part of his life/career? Maybe he says they can make figures of him but not the old look. Who knows.

We won’t see anything at Ringside Fest and by the end of the year Zombie will reveal his Rick Steiner that “fits” in your Hasbro collections. That man doesn’t care.
I personally want Ultimates of their early 90s look, but I won’t lose my mind if we never get them.

We need multiple looks of their tag years. No one cares about what rumor is being spread around, it doesn’t change the impact they had on wrestling fans from that era. Because it's Mattels marketing strategy to not give the fans what they want immediately. I'm not that worried about getting the Steiners just yet. Remember, right now Mattel expected to be working on an Ultimate Scott, they just put out the solo Rick and probably always planned on pumping out a chainmail Scott first into the Elite line. The Steiners are not Hogan or Warrior. They do have to be paced out a bit. My gut says they may end up being a RSC ultimate two pack especially if this Uso's set sells well.
Had they come out the gate with early 90's Stieners, there's no way people would have cared to buy the solo Rick, or any solo Rick for that matter.

I really hope the Steiners aren't a RSE two pack. I don't care for fancy packaging or anything that'll hike up the price. Just release them as a UE two pack for every retailer. They're big enough names and it'll be FTIL. It's more than likely Mattel being Mattel and waiting to deliver the attires we want. I don't think it has to do anything with controversy. We live in a society where something is relevant one day and then forgotten about in less than a month. People have the attention span of monkeys and I partly blame technology. Either way, I want my '98 white singlet Steiner.

So they only showed 3 figures for Legends 22. Maybe the other one is Rick Steiner, and it is just not advertised because, you know?

I know Mattel like spreading releases out - but given the Steiner's "outspoken" nature, just give us the early '90's UEs already... all their other looks can wait.

While this response is definitely true in most cases, IIRC Scott signed weeks to a couple months later than Rick so they started on Rick's singles run first. I'm really surprised that they weren't planned for a main line UE release (unless they shuffled stuff around). If we don't see them the rest of the weekend, then I think there are three or four scenarios 1. Mattel will just release Rick's figures without promoting them. 2. Mattel and/or WWE put Rick's figures temporarily on hold until things die down. 3. Mattel and/or WWE have no plans to release figures/merch at all (there have been reports that WWE will not have him involved in any storylines with Bron so could be moreso on WWEs end if this is what happens). A fourth scenario could be that we are so far out with announcements that Mattel has more than enough time to wait to announce more figures (promoted or not). For example, if they are the next UE RSC exclusive - that most likely won't be released until summer 2024 so they could wait until RSC fest or even WM weekend to announce it. |

One of Mattel’s biggest flaws is they play the long game when it comes to figure forms we really want. They’re not gonna give us The Steiners that everyone wants right away, they’re gonna milk the attires and timeframes to stretch this out. Problem is, more often than not, that has bit them in the ass through deals expiring, lawsuits, WWE’s grudges or wrestlers doing dumb things.
