I was at my buddy's toy shop today when the conversation turned to highly requested figures for the WWE Mattel line that you really don't care if they make or not. You know we all see the requests on here all the time so let's see some of those names that aren't that really big of a deal to you. Here's mine
Owen Hart-After reading that he accussed Stone Cold of faking his neck injury and messing up matches on purpose I don't really want a figure of him. I think he was very overrated and outside of his feud with Bret (whom deserves all the credit in my opinion) he never did anything else of worth in the business. I would pass on a Mattel figure of him.
Giant Gonzales- I see this one requested a lot but outside of a horrible match with the Undertaker what did he really do? I might still pick this one up if he is ever released but he's no Killer Bees or Hercules.

Dang, another one of these threads. To this day, I keep thinking your name is THE me Man. I'll say something controversial, I'd be okay if we never got another Ultimate Warrior or red and yellow trunks Hogan. I already got the Ultimate Edition warrior from WCW, but I do want to replace him with the new updated version. Anyone knows when he'll hit retailers? I'm not paying anything over what it costs.

On that note, I think I could pass on any figure or attire from the current roster without regretting it later.
I’m almost at the point where I pretend the Walmart exclusive lines never existed, just to ease the pain.

Anything from 1998 or later is an easy pass. My only exceptions are usually Mick Foley or Asuka.

let me start off with I only read the title so…If they are your “Must Have” then you couldn’t do without. Because they’re your “Must haves” so the thread doesn’t make sense. Now if you mean other people’s “Must haves” that you can do without then there’s a lot. But I wouldn’t consider other peoples must have wants my “must haves”
Now for others “Must Haves” I will say this there are certain Hulk Hogan shirts people are asking for their Hogan’s to have. I’ll buy Hogan no matter what shirt he has or doesn’t have. So the certain shirts aren’t must haves. Then there plenty of Attitude era and modern wrestlers people keep asking for that I personally don’t care if they ever get made. I hope they do for those who want them, but I don’t need them.

My must have is Ultimate Warrior, however, I hope that the last figure they end up making for him is the one that like 2 or 3 people keep requesting.
I feel like they are going to eventually make it (although they haven't made jeans DDP with rib tape and serious scan yet like that one poster has requested for 8+ years).
That figure is the one with the baseball cap and black paint.
Warrior has so many cool attires and wild hair that it would be a downer if they released one with a hat/black paint.
They still haven't made Warrior with rope shaking hair yet.
Only thing that would make it cool is if they included the framed picture of him (non-breakable) and then maybe a breakable version with Lawler later on.

Both Owen and Giant Gonzales are day one buys for me if they happen. I get that the nature of the topic is relative and to each their own, but really? For me, any modern talent I could care less if they get made or not. Gimme more Legends and alumni. I'd take a Tajiri, Steve Blackman or Ahmed Johnson over Bad Bunny, Grayson what's his name or any other random talent from today's roster any day. |
