I’ve seen Christian vs Edge though… multiple times. Zero interest in seeing it again in their 40’s-50’s. Much like having no interest in seeing The Hardyz in their 40’s. You have? They had an IC title feud over 20 years ago, have been across from each other in a couple random tag team matches and then years later a single match on Raw that ended up being all about Randy Orton and Undertaker as opposed to any sort of core Edge and Christian rivalry. Yes. The feud in 2001 when both were (in my opinion) at their peaks was enough for me. Both men are shells of their former selves (again, my opinion) and while Christian has a humorous “gimmick” at the moment, I have zero interest in seeing the guys going at in their 50’s for what is overall an nostalgia act. Christian, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne vs. Adam Copeland, Sting and Darby Alin? Which will surely be some “no disqualification” match. No thanks. For the record though, I do understand that I’m in the minority with my thoughts on Edge and Christian.

Nearly 4million in under 48 hours, crazy numbers right there.

I'm happy for everyone excited about potential matchups but for me easily the best thing about this is the Edge vs. Christian feud that should have happened in 2010, hopefully it's over a world championship. They really should have had a feud around 2009-2011 ffs... it would have been some classic stuff.

I’m excited at the possibilities but I don’t care about the side characters in this feud. Luchasaurus, Nick Wayne and Darby do absolutely nothing for me. I’ve never cared about Sting outside his surfer run. I see a lot of people losing their minds over Sting and Edge in the ring at the same time, but I’m not sure why. Yeah they are both legends, but I’ve never seen or heard anyone mention the two in the same sentence.
As of right now my only major wants are Adam and Christian vs FTR and The Brood vs House Of Black. And maybe a match with Adam Cole.

I see a lot of comparisons between WCW and AEW at this point.
AEW is in their "WCW acquiring WWE names phase." WCW got super popular with the likes of Hogan, Savage and others jumping ship before Hall and Nash joined as the outsiders.
The older talent back then really and truly brought eyes to WCW at the time and I think the same thing will happen with AEW. One thing Tony Khan has to avoid is letting the former WWE talents (mind you 99% of the AEW roster has been through the WWE system at one point over the last 20+ years) get full creative control. I'm all for talents have creative input into their angles and characters but they shouldn't have final say.
I see Dolph Ziggler being the next person to join AEW when his 90 day no compete clause is over.
I do have one question for everyone here. If we were to compare Adam, Punk, Christian Cage, Paul Wight etc to Hogan, Savage, etc jumping to WCW back in the day. Who would be equal to the Outsiders jumping over?

I honestly don't see any equals. In ring talent wise, there's a long list of folks but if you look at star power and name value, no one is moving numbers like they did 20+ years ago. I know people view wrestling in different ways and many feel that ratings don't matter but when the 2023 Super Bowl had like 115 million viewers that tells me there's still an ass ton of people that watch TV. There's just simply not as many wrestling fans as there used to be but Moreso the fans of today are willing to consume more wrestling and spend more money on the product than in in the previous era(s).

I think it’s just the fact that it’s two legends meeting for the first time ever plus they are probably the two biggest active wrestlers in the world right now… it’s just something random that we thought would never happen tbh. I’d say Edge & Sting in the same ring together will go down as a legendary moment in the business.
