Shocking, negativity abounds. The best thing about these types of threads (anything released-based of drops-based) is how much better I feel about myself after reading 99.9% of the posts. I wish the worst things going in my life could be that an UE Miz or Steiner wasn't revealed. damn, we can’t even post about wrestling figures on a wrestling figure forum. I wish the worst thing going on in my life was a UE Miz not being revealed, too. we all have life problems, you’re not special.

I think Stan Hansen or Larry Zybysko will be the pre 80s legends that they mentioned.

That Asuka figure looks great. Excellent effort put into it and a must have figure. But in the Comic Con Q&A they said "more legends coming, you can only show so much at once, first time legends, some returning legends, some holy crap surprises when you see these names or visuals pop up" So yes, I thought they were going to bounce back in a big way at this Ringside Fest. For me, an underwhelming display. Not even enough material for ol' KP to make a video about. So the thing about the 'big 3 annual reveal' functions, this is definitely the weakest, and it is pretty clear that now that these are online only, the main function is to announce and show off the next annual Ringside exclusive. This year it was the Outsiders 2pack, and also the preorder for the WCW ring. It is sponsored by Ringside, so it makes sense that they do not concentrate on other exclusive lines - like the Target Legends or Walmart RA or MNW series. They were touched upon in the QnA, but that is it. These are the major events - let me know if I forgot any Early April - Wrestlemania weekend is a huge reveal, the second biggest of the year with all lines represented Later July - San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) - the biggest reveal of the year with all lines represented Mid November - Ringside fest - usually a few reveals, highlighted by the announcement of the next big Ringside Exclusive set(s). Each month we also have the wwe dot com reveals, and periodically there is a nugget of a reveal, usually a render or two towards the end - which is nice. The big reveals are good for announcing names and lineups, and then the .com reveals are good down the road for the actual pictures of the figures. So besides the QnA being lacking, even more so than usual in my opinion, it was about what I expected. This is not, and will probably never be, at the same level of SDCC or Wrestlemania weekend.

I have been trying to think of a fresh take - or even a replacement - for the Q&A for a long time. It's a bit of 'comfort food' for us but it's starting to be more like 7-11 pizza than anything else. It's been clear to me that Q&A's are stale and would work best maybe once a year, but until I can come up with something better, it's what we have. For the record I also miss in-person Ringside Fest...it feels more natural, it's more fun and obviously Caroline's was a legendary setting, but unfortunately that's gone for now. Who knows what next year holds.
It is an absolute waste of time, more so than what we already have, to rifle off a list of 90% of the fan questions (when are we going to get Pedro Morales) because the answer is the same. I know some people want this just to feel affirmed regardless, even if it's a no, but I'm just not doing it like we used to.
I am also never, ever going to ask any distribution question or controversial dig or anything like that. It's not beneficial for anyone. I understand people's frustrations but that avenue is not the place for that question. Really it's better to pester Wal Mart.
So we're down to asking about tech updates, things like updates on the Nitro Stage (which we already know the answer to and also have heard previously) and a various Macho Man situation here and there.
What else can be done? I'm a professional with a lot of experience in a lot of different things but I'm admittedly stumped with this. I don't really know what else we could provide that isn't too far behind the curtain, doesn't upend obvious marketing strategy or necessary secrecy (many, many people forget the level of approvals toys go through right up to their final production run) other than give it a break and do it less often which has been my suggestion lately.
Also it's no secret it puts me in a tough spot just as a person with a job as a lot of you who know me know I absolutely hate to 'game show host' my way through things since actual wrestling began for me all those years ago but Ringside Fest requires it, perhaps more than anything else. So people can save their comments calling me 'cringey' because I get it and I do my best to avoid it.
I'm going to continue thinking on it and seeing what we things can be presented with a little more freshness but I hope many here will appreciate what they get at least in terms of reveals and semi-transparent discussions because it definitely doesn't happen with other toy lines like it does here. And that's just on the Ringside side. Keep in mind as was referenced in the end of the video, we are still 'beholden' to Mattel, and I mean that in the nicest and most polite way possible, and what they are able and unable to reveal, so there's a whole other side of what's ultimately going to be shown or discussed at ANY of the many reveal situations that no one has any control over other than the toy company itself.
That said, I understand disappointment with high hopes and expectations (I still want Hardcore and Crash Holly myself, I can relate) and hope things feel more substantial for some of you in the future. I'm open to suggestions and I'm always going to be as transparent as possible so feel free to meet me in the middle if there's something more direct you'd like to say that I can try to get done.

Suggestion......an insight behind the first series of WWE Mattel I would be interested in. The decisions behind the attires and superstars that were featured in the first series and why they were in that spot.

I mean part of it is there’s literally a q and a in this board that’s pretty active and operates year round. Often Steve will answer questions there that are more risqué than someone like yourself is willing to posit to him as more of a professional.

I couldn't think of any questions to ask and it has only just came to me.
Why do they keep churning out these Bret Hart figures? They haven't mastered it and they are not going to. I know what there answer would be, but they haven't cleared any pegs in any toy store I have been to.
Also.....you can't word on your advertisement "even more reveals" when you just show finished products of figures that were revealed at SDCC. To me that doesn't count as reveals.

Honestly as a collector I just want reveals. Show us what we’re getting and where to get it. Not interested in would've, could’ve, should’ve. Conversely don’t show us stuff that’s finished, take preorders months in advance and rip it out of our hands right at supposed release date.
I know the answer to why they didn’t make an actual scale WCW ring. It’s just embarrassing and annoying they act like it’s not a big deal, it’s just a toy…A $150 toy…
Keep slopping out repaint rings with exclusive figures and idiots will gulp gulp gulp them up and call you dumb for being passionate about the hobby we’re all supposed to care about….

The Q&As do feel like a waste of time especially since Steve is so engaging on here, social media, and makes occasional appearances on various podcasts. What more can be asked that doesn’t get addressed by AFA. Maybe do a year in review with them. Go over the highs and some of the lows of the various lineups released in that calendar year. Possibly get some insight on what went into picking characters and attires. What they liked, what they thought they coulda executed better.
