Idk, someone on Facebook brought up that Ted has 4 figures on last 2 years and all of them came from the legends line.
I picked up the chase Ted today it should have been the regular. The green one is well it don't look good. I probably won't pick up the green until it hits 6 bucks if at all.
Mr. Perfect has had zero figures in what last 4+ years? No I'm not including his manager baf figure. Perfect made more sense to be the chase figure in this series.
Why is it up to bill to determine the chase?
I guess because Mattel likes to conduct their activities in private, this is very archaic.
Idk I think it would improve the landscape of legends going forward IMHO.
Keep in mind, I'm not asking to choose the chase attire, I'm asking let us vote one which figure SHOULD be the chase in the series.

This won't change distribution. because people would vote the best attires for chases Again, no one is voting for attires.....THEY ARE VOTING WHICH FIGURE SHOULD BE THE CHASE. No attires shown. Example Legends 54 is set to have 1. Ultimate Warrior 2. Bob Backlund 3. Undertaker 4. Shawn Michaels. The attires for that set as already been set in stone, you just vote which of the 4 should be the chase in that series. You're not voting on attires at all. Your voting for the chase figure. |

Fan voting is why we don’t have an elite pre-TNA Christian and why we almost didn’t get camo Adam Cole. And I still have no idea when those votes took place or where they took place.
Mattel has been pretty good with Legends chases. We got blue Shamrock (which should’ve been the regular, but at least we got it), post-Nation D-Lo, Lex Luger, Edge, etc. I’d say the only missed opportunities were the Acolytes (could’ve gotten APA in tights or Bradshaw 2001-2002 as a chase) and Mr Perfect (could’ve got NWO Curt Hennig).
So I don’t want fan votes because they’ll either screw it up or constantly vote for Ultimate Warrior chases and my Monday Night Wars roster will never get filled.

I can see the issue where everyone would keep voting for Warrior through out different series. To combat that, have a minimum of 5 waves before repeat legends appear in the line again. And I agree with shamrock, and I see why they did Dlo and it made sense. But Ted being chase again doesn't make sense. It should have been Mr. Perfect. Give us the opportunity if you will. When's the next Mr. Perfect coming? Who's knows as it seems he has very long gaps in-between his releases. I would appreciate the engagement for it though. |

a) Voting on a chase figure isn't realistic, since there are budget and logistic constraints. Not every figure could even be considered for a chase.
b) This is pretty much a recipe for the anchor talent in every wave to win. Take a look at how fan vote has gone in recent years.
I honestly don't have any complaint about the wave they've used chases in the line, except the blue Shamrock absolutely should have been the regular version.

Because then they would have to say who was in the line to prior to when they want to announce the lineups. And they don’t want to do that because things happen and lineups change. It would work if we know the lineup when Mattel did, but that’s not how it works.

I dont trust a "fan vote" on anything. Im fine with letting MDT make a few bad decisions vs everyone constantly making all bad decisions.

By the time we learn a lineup, much less details like pictures, attires, and chase figures, it is WELL past the time that they have to get the OK from the licensor - so WWE. WWE approves every detail, including the chase, well before we hear about them at all.
I am sure for special cases like the Fan Takeover figures, they have approval for all the choices from WWE, and they just put the winner in production (and usually the others come out at some point). This is probably the biggest reason we do not have more of a voice in things like this.

There are so so SO many reasons this would never work but really? Even if those reasons didn't exist I would like to keep fan voting as far away from this product as possible I still have lingering trust issues over Camo Cole.
