Agree. This isn’t a Hall I care for, but sucks for those who want him. Not only is the scale way off, but the fx printing looks terrible. It looks half assed. I feel the same way about Piper’s trunks and kneepads being the wrong color. It may not be a huge deal for others, but it throws off the figure and this was a huge want for me. It’s the only Piper I wanted. Hopefully, we get mid length haired Piper at some point.

It just seems like simple things have constant problems. I don’t want to speak it into existence….but, what simple little thing is going to ruin jeans DDP…if it EVER gets made.

Agree. Little things that could easily be fixed or a quick Google search to find references. Detail is important and could make a 10/10 figure a solid 6 imo. I'm all over the place with jeans DDP. Everyone here knows that I wanted a black WCW singlet Bret and jeans DDP since forever. We're getting him, but Steve mentioned the possibility of DDP being an elite. A lot of us want him to be an Ultimate Edition. We don't want smiling DDP, we want a serious face scan. The Assassin would agree. With the Ultimate line we get the possibility of getting a serious scanned DDP, with two or three scans. I would go for serious, snarling/teeth gritting (as a homage to his Toybiz figure) and a screaming scan to recreate the bang! pyro motion. He would have light baby blue jeans, black wrist tape, rib cage tape, sleeveless shirt and possibly his vest. Might as well just give us the Starrcade '97 look. One thing Mattel really needs to get right are his tucked in boots. I don't think they've got anything yet in their arsenal that resembles that look. I've seen some customizers use the John Morrison legs which work well, but I want a new mold. I hope Mattel is hearing this. We've been wanting this figure for years.

EDIT: For whatever reason, I have a feeling DDP might be a baf bulldog repaint. I really hope not. From a cost saving standpoint, I could see it.

What everyone is calling a wash here is actually dry brushing.

A wash is putting a darker color over your base to add shadows. Dry brushing is using a lighter color to add highlights.

You can tell that the jeans and vest are molded in the same color. All a person would have to do is match the secondary color of the jeans, dry brush the vest with it, and they’d match almost exactly. SUPER easy fix.

As GreyHaze:Big Bad Booty Daddy said, DDP needs a SERIOUS headscan (and with a great likeness obviously), that's the character I remember, NOT SMILING!



Ideally I want an Elite with Blue-Diamond shirt and jeans (AKA "Smash N Slam" attire) but the serious headscan is the most important thing to me.

Not necessarily. Check the secondary market when these hit. Resellers love to sell BAF pieces separately, so you end up paying $80 (or more) total for a figure that cost them nothing. Might be able to get the head for >$20 shipped.

Man its been a lifetime it seems but can someone at Mattel just get the assassin a damn straight faced ddp already? He makes a good point

Also i hope they do that undertaker head again, i feel like its a decent sculpt, it just needs better paint app. The goatee is too thick also
