I don't know why people are down on the entire series...Every figure so far has been good (although Hall was a bit of a let down). It's just a shame that I'll never be able to buy them here in Canada. Because the Filthy Animals Rey got pushed back for now. I mean it wasn’t long ago majority of people here were on a certain site spending $40 for the Monday night wars figures. I remember around the time I started here, I had saw a post where people were theorizing why Bill left… at the time I was thinking “what a big baby.” But it didn’t take long to realize why he left, and I cannot blame him.

WWE has always been weird about not showing Rey unmasked. You can watch all that stuff on the Network, but I remember them going out of their way to avoid that era when releasing Rey DVDs back in the day. And if they had to cover something with unamsked Rey in a documentary, they would only show the back of his head.
It is strange, because it's one of the only kayfabe things that the company has held on to.

Because he accused the board and certain moderators themselves of allowing and participating in the dissemination of privileged/leaked info about future lines. I remember people leaned hard into MDT for designs and such, but that wasn't the final straw.

Well I get why people are down about Rey, but I'm not sure how that translates to the entire line being crap. IMO..... Scott Hall looks awful. Wrong color vest, wrong height, not the best head. Should have been a home-run figure, ended up a base hit Undertaker looks like he weighs 180 lbs, and the head is Jakks BCA-ish. This is also like the 8th Attitude Era 'Taker we've gotten in the last 2 years. Hogan is fine but its like, he literally looked like that for ONE night, not exactly a needed figure Austin is fine but it's basically just a re-release of the DM with a different jacket and if it was going to eat up so much budget they couldn't give Undertaker the correct torso or the right color on Hall's vest...it wasn't worth it Filthy Animals/Unmasked Rey was replaced with a boring attire WCW Rey, and zero accessories Nash instead of coming with a different head, just comes with a different hairpiece because "costs" HHH is in an attire he wore like twice, and comes with nothing. They just released a DX HHH in the Legends series with a full extra outfit that went on clearance for $6 "Diesel" is fine, it's wrestlecrap, and a fun addition....but again, it's literally a figure of Kane dressed as Diesel and it's the 6th figure in the line that is like 90% all black attire base

I've never been into maskless Rey or much of '99+ WCW, but that was undeniably one of the more special things in this line so far. Hall in the jean outfit, the first WWE-branded maskless Rey, and The Disciple are the ones that stick out to me great ways to incorporate previously signed talent in new ways that make sense for a line such as this. I knew going in we'd likely not be seeing most of the international cruisers or the Jerry Flynn & Chaz's (though he is technically possible now...) of the MNW. But still...S1 is flawed but alright, and Series 2 just falls kinda flat for me and heavily lacks accessories. I imagine Rey might have been a rushed conversion of the UE since they had to pivot likely due to WWE changing their mind on the maskless situation. They showed off a black entrance jacket late into the Nitro stage campaign, and it doesn't look like he comes with it here.
I have hope the line will get better, though. Two versions of Harlem Heat repaints will be cool, plus there's the possibility of The Headbangers, The Sandman (thank you, ECW Raw invasion in 1997), The Dudleyz, maybe Raven (!?), Sting being freed up to hopefully sign a merch deal in a few weeks, whatever is going on with Savage, the Steiners...there's some potentially awesome figures being worked on right now that have either been absent from the line for awhile or haven't had a WWF/WWE figure in ages.

It's just a shame that I'll never be able to buy them here in Canada. There's options they could do for us Canadians: Mattel Creations Fan Channel Amazon Canada Hasbro's exclusives are offered here but none of Mattel's are. No idea why it's happening and still no answers no matter how many times it's brought it.

Classified had a rough couple of years initially, but now they are cooking with gas. They learned not to put sought after figures and looks as store exclusives and are writing all the wrongs they did at the beginning of the line by giving Walmart sought after looks.

Okay, but do we know if this Rey has been shelved for good, or is it possible they aren't happy with the way something turned out about it, and are saving it for somewhere else in the line. Maybe even knowing it is something that could sell more as a GR? Or are we doing what a lot of us do around here and jumping to conclusions (myself being guilty of this as well)?

Steve’s only “official” (social media) comment on the matter certainly made it sound like it’s not coming any time soon, which would indicate it was more than a production or switching lines issue. Though of course anything is possible.

The winds been taken completely of the sails for me with this line. I’ll admit, my stupid ass is still going to buy a lot of figures from it.

Angry about the Rey but as I said in the other thread, at least they didn't pull a PWG Sami and wait until preorders were already shipping before letting people know the figure had been changed from what was promised.
Not that it's the same magnitude of change but when that Sami was finally shown to not have the PWG logo, there were a ton of people I saw livid because that was the ONLY reason they had pre-ordered it.
But really I agree with the people that the execution of this whole line has been a letdown. Beyond the fact that I'm certain I won't find any of them in stores, even figures that should be slam dunks are wiffing entirely. I don't know how they went so damn wrong with that Hall figure, but yeah. And Undertaker as a cruiserweight is confusing af. Now they chickened out on the Rey. I really wanted to get both the Hall and Nash from this line but with Hall being tiny, he's gonna look like Rey beside Nash. About the only figure shown so far from this line that I'm still really into is Fake Diesel which, in my quest for wrestlecrap figures, I have wanted for some time.
How did Mattel mess this up so bad? This is the most celebrated period in pro wrestling this should have been easy Ws all around! How did they screw this up so BAD?

I think I might be the only one happy about the change of Rey figure. I had no interest in unmasked Rey, and I really wanted that WCW debut gear - so it's worked out for at least one person in the world, I guess. To be honest, I was surprised that WWE and/or Rey was going to allow them to do an unmasked version. They've both done everything in their power to make it seem like it never even happened. Filthy Animals Rey was an easy pass for me. When Rey lost his mask and started gluing the horns to his head was when I lost interest in him. It took a long time for me to start enjoying his work again once he went to the wwe.
