Hey guys.. got lucky today. I went into my walmart as usual and pushed some little old lady heading to the pharmacy out of her wheelchair because she got in my way headed to the toy section. I was able to scoop up an envelope she dropped labeled pension money. I took the cash out and headed to buy some new wrestling figs. While there I told the guy who was holding series 2 mnw elites that they were giving away free signed versions in the alley. Jokes on him. Walmart doesn't even have an alley. And I was able to scoop up some elite wave two with old lady pension money! Score! That’s not just a score. That’s a DOUBLE SCORE!

But I wonder if we need to collectively create a "Code of Ethics" when it comes to collecting.... To include but not limited to: * Scalping vs. "Helping" other collectors * Figure Swapping * Self Checkout Etiquette * Buying all the figures on the shelf, or leaving some for others * Just outright stealing the shipper displays * Pallet etiquette - is it okay to buy something off the pallet? * Working at a Store & buying all the stuff before customers ever see it * What to do if you and another "collector" arrive at the freshly-stocked shelves at the exact same time * Hiding figures elsewhere in the store for later purchase or for others to purchase * People who post on Facebook from the store "how much are these worth?" and "which one is the chase?" when they find a chase. I'll take this one - if you don't know - the right thing is to NOT buy it.

Finally found series 1. Fresh case of Elites and ultimates on the shelf. Bought the entire set. Also grabbed the Maivia set (which I told myself I wouldn't do) and a Logan Paul elite. $252.50 less in my bank account.

I get hiding product for a friend or family member if you know they are looking for something and are going to purchase as soon as they can get to the store (not days until payday). I find it weird when people on here do it and then post in the figure findings that they did it if anyone needs it. It would be one thing if someone on here needed it/asked them to, but just to hide stuff without anyone asking them is cringey. Literally creating more work for employees, risking backing up your store's stock/inventory for new product, or helping out scalpers here that monitor the boards when no one asked them to.

Here's my Undertaker. All have been like this where I got mine from: Excellent We need more Attitude Era Undertakers for sure. I’d love to see a SDCC remake of ministry Taker with a fully detailed cape. I would also take one with a Ministry robe and two or three heads with different hairstyles.

I live in a smallish town and I'm pretty sure I'm the only collector in the area lol.

I know this board has a list of "Rules" and Admins to enforce them.... - I help people when I can, but I'm never going to buy something if I don't 100% know they want it. If you are buying tons of stuff to "sell" at cost + shipping, it's a double edged sword and I don't have a strong opinion on it. - Swapping is an unforgivable sin. - For now I'm following the straight and narrow, I could have scummed Target for legends 22 when they put them out two weeks ago. However, the moment I eat crap because I did the right thing, it's all fair after that in my book. Don't put crap out if you aren't gonna sell it, don't stop me from buying and then leave it out so someone else can come by and scum the store which just ends up with both of us getting screwed. - Buying all the figs to resell or whatever is a dick move and should be generally frowned upon. - Anything on the sales floor is fair game as long as you aren't a tool about it. Don't unstack a bunch of boxes to open up a fresh case and then leave a mess behind. Put things back the way you found them. - I don't think people working at these stores, buying wrestling figures in particular, is as wide spread of an issue as people make it out to be. However, if you know for sure it's happening, then it's a scummy thing to do and they are open to the consequences of their actions. - Never ran into another collector like this, but I assume it's first come first serve and you just try to be polite about it. - I'm not gonna hide figures like a child and no one else should. If a person wants a figure bad enough they'll pay you back if you buy it for them. If they are indecisive and aren't committed, then it's up to them to come and get them like everyone else. - "How much are these posts" shouldn't be a thing, use Google. I know why they are asking but it's just idiotic to do and shouldn't be tolerated from both a moral and logical stand point. - Expecting people not to buy a figure because they don't know which is the chase is ridiculous and would only drive people to buy both and figure it out later. A perfect example to me was the King Mabel elite, it was had to tell which was which even with Google. After I figured it out, I went with the chase because it was the better purchase of the two. Overall, I think the collector community has an issue where the expectation is that you should help everyone else. You shouldn't go out of your way to screw other people and should treat people with respect, but collecting is an inherently selfish hobby. If it's clear I am following a higher standard than others, then there's no reason for me to continue. Other than having a weird sense of moral superiority, and that doesn't look good on a shelf.

I have hid figures for people before because they don’t know when we could meet up. But I also tell them if they don’t grab it within the next day I am putting it back on the pegs the next day I am there. Which is normally every other day.
As for the pallets or carts I ask the employees if it’s ok for me to grab something from it or if they would mind pulling that case and never had an issue.

Other than having a weird sense of moral superiority, and that doesn't look good on a shelf. * When I went to Target on Sunday (4/28 "Street Date") right when they opened at 8am, there were two other collectors "fast walking" right towards the toy area. In my mind, I was thinking "well if these dude's clear off the shelf before I get to it, that's crummy." And I knew I wouldn't get a chase. Fortunately it didn't matter as the shelves were empty and all the new stuff was in the back. Not saying it's their fault, but I'm drawing the line at RUNNING/RACING to the figure aisle when the store opens so that I can find the chase. I'm just not doing that. * My only point was that someone who doesn't know what figures are worth or which ones are chases should just leave them for the collectors or the people who bothered to research it before going to the store. If they don't know, they clearly aren't hobbyists, they are opportunists. I agree with your final point. I try to get what I need for my collection - I occasionally buy "two" if it's something I might reasonably want to get autographed.... and I try not to screw other people. I don't buy extra just with the idea that I might be able to sell it or profit on it. My brother and I occasionally grab items for each other when we find them, but that's actually somewhat rare. And it again comes back to the fact that 99% of these issues are caused by these stores being grossly understocked. We never had this in the 90's when Kay Bee toys had a FULL AISLE filled with JAKKS Legends. My issue then was not being able to afford all the figures that I wanted that the store had stocked!

Wow guys I got really lucky this evening. I was making my rounds and when I rounded the toy section at one of my Wal Marts I see a dude standing there holding the only Piper. I got to talking to him and it turns out he's a new collector that only started last year. He was thinking about buying the Piper but I told him that he may be able to find one on sale at Ringside.. but the joke was on him because Ringside doesn't sell store exclusives and I was able to score a Piper!! You’re trolling right? That’s a douche bag move. P1, I’ll post some pictures up tomorrow when and if I get time. The only bad thing is the reality check shirts seam is ripped so I have to be super careful putting it on and off. He gets to just post this stuff willy nilly, but when certain people here posts things completely innocuous or call him out for it, they get warning bars or banned, I smell a double standard.

No one is gonna hold hands and skip to the toy aisle together even if they are a cool person. If you got there first and someone else arrived a minute after you, would you have given them the chase if they wanted it? If the answer is no, that's why they speed walked. Someone's gotta go without, it's just a matter of how much you are willing to do to make sure it's not you. I'm not doing homework before I go to the store, and I'm especially not doing it for toys. I'm sorry, but that's a BS expectation. Asking how much is one thing, but just because someone asks which is the chase doesn't mean they are looking to flip it. If someone told me that I shouldn't buy anything if I can't figure out which is the chase after I asked, I'd buy both before I leave the store empty handed.

Well I think just by the nature of being here on this board, you are doing "homework" on these and would generally go into a store knowing what you are looking for? I don't mean that in any negative way, I think most everyone on this board has a good idea of what figures they want for their collections. Someone who has to ask on Facebook is generally just trying to flip them. I've seen some posts so obnoxious where they post a pic in the store and say "which of these figures are worth the most?" Those posts tend to grind my gears.

They are worth $21.66 after tax at my Target. That’s the only cost/worth that matters to me.

I used to run to the toy aisle after the store opened when I was younger. I'm older and I just don't have the same drive as I did 10 years ago.
