Did Steve say whether or not Bret was coming with a Canadian flag?

This is exactly what happened when Jakks did their '96 return Undertaker in the BCA days (the one from the Champions boxset and many others). It was nice to get a Taker post-purple gloves with new molded parts, but he was way too small and skinny feeling. They finally corrected it with a beefier 1997/1998 Undertaker. The one in this comparison is a special version, most were just straight dark gray/black with purple tats and painted eyes, but it still illustrates the mold upgrade.

Look at this sht man.. Yeah, this is one of those time where even I think the body looks horrible. I really like that head though. If this figure weren't going to be impossible to find, I would want it to pop onto the Ultimate body.

The first wave of this line went from must-get to a pass on every single figure after seeing pics of the final products. These all look unfinished for various reasons. I’ll pick up the Ultimates, maybe the Stone Cold from wave 1, assuming I can find them and look forward to wave 2…unless those are half finished as well.
Silver lining: I just saved about $100+.

I dunno. Maybe it’s just me, but that head looks nothing like The Undertaker.

Agreed on Taker and Hall for sure (though I would like to see Hall with the correct ponytail head on). Austin and Hogan look fine to me, though neither is a wrestler or figure I'd go out of my way to find.

After some research, that Austin jacket is actually more accurate than the DM release. Those legs though. Ooof
Then again, these are action figures. Not lifelike sculptures.

I don’t think the actual face resembles Mark at all. Just a head with a goatee and long black hair. Again though, these don’t need to be perfect. They’re representations of the characters.

I'm with everyone else....this set went from "must have" to "meh" really quick.

Man….Mattel completely whiffed on Taker and Scott Hall in this set. Brutal.

Austin and Hogan look fine to me, though neither is a wrestler or figure I'd go out of my way to find. The color contrast between the jeans and vest is rough. The lack of a denim wash for the vest just really kills the overall look and is such an eyesore. Could they really not give the same color treatment the jeans got to the vest? Was it due to the different material? Not making excuses for Mattel at all it's just hard to believe they didn't realize that both parts of the attire - IRL - are the EXACT same color/material yet the final product says otherwise.

Guessing they couldn’t do the wash on the rubber vest. Hmm
To our fellow customizers, is it tough to keep a wash on the rubber material? Might not be something easy for us to “fix”.

Hey brother S, it’s relatively easy. Just add a blue that’s a little darker than the one on the vest. Then add a wash with a mid blue and dry wash with white or lighter shade of blue. You’re going to want to seal the vest with krylon or something similar.
