Going by anecdotal observation, I think there’s a little bit of a bubble on here as far as thinking that Zombie’s figures looking like heavily detailed and etc. is a bug as opposed to a feature. But again, that’s just based on my observation of others as I don’t actively collect any of these retro lines. Not to be rude, but if you don't collect retros, it's probably not the right thing to be commenting on. Zombie didn't come out and say he was creating a brand new figure line. He came out and said he was creating a line styled after the Hasbros, and that his figures would be the closest thing to them. He was marketing them as the closest thing to Hasbros anyone could find -- and as far as I'm aware, he still frames things that way. Since you don't buy any retro figures, it would make sense that your views/concerns are different than many posting here. But Zombie has invited and encouraged any criticism of his figures not looking like Hasbros, because his entire line was initially built on that premise
You seem to be misconstruing my comments as either A. A defense of Zombie, an I I have zero desire to do. or B. Saying the criticism here is “wrong”. I’m not saying either of these things, and I’m not even giving my own opinion. Just saying that when looking at the reaction to his figures outside of the bubble of this forum, I think the number of people who are turned off/not buying them/angry because they’re too detailed or etc. is much smaller than it would seem here. I think that to a lot of people, the detailed meatier of them is a feature of the line, not a bug. (Now, there are a bunch of very valid reasons to at best be wary of buying from Zombie)

He posted pics of the gcw pack. The back states that he recommends using a hair dryer to swap the heads to avoid damage. I guess the hairdryer is sold seperately. Can you imagine if mitch put this on a card..

Can you imagine if mitch put this on a card.. Josh probably has a few investments in hair dryer manufacturers, considering that was his recommendation for fixing the legs on drunken Sabu
and yes, if Mitch put it on a card, he'd be (rightly) mocked for it. for some reason, Zombie as usual gets given a pass and many can't understand why - this is basic failure of his product testing process (which we know there is none) because swapping heads (on products designed to be swappable, as these clearly are) should be as straight forward as pop off/pop on, it's not an unusual feature of many toy lines today to have multiple heads etc. and you don't need a hairdryer for swapping a Marvel Legends or DC figure head

Calling them statues is a bit silly too. Maybe it’s their detail more than their pose or a combination. If you want to go by pose, they are fairly similar to Remco style figures. Or you can can look at us as though they are lacking the appearance of having an action mechanism in which case I suppose you can liken it to a statue…but Jakks BCA figures aren’t statues. Mattel basics weren’t really looked at as statues. It’s just kind of weird that caught on. Thats not a complaint; just an observation.

micco Not sure what angle you’re taking here. If you are trying to suggest people like the longer arms, I challenge you find evidence of it. I can’t think of a single person on here, on Instagram, with a podcast, or in ANY Facebook group that said they prefer the long arms. I made it a point that they were selling so it didn’t matter. I personally do not like them but I am also not passing up opportunities to own what may likely be the only figure made of certain people that are close to the size of Hasbros. you're right, he does still frame his line as a Hasbro-esque style, except they clearly haven't been since Jarrett, and judging by the designs for Series 3 and 4, he's moved on from Hasbro styling to his own thing. the legs apart stance and gibbon-styled arms are obviously fundamental to his style going forward, and the detailing on Booger or Herc's faces are (in my view) "too much" for a retro styled figure, Andre stands out like a sore thumb when it comes to facial details compared to similar figures from official and independent sources, so this is the norm for ZST going forward. I just find it odd that he's putting so much effort into facial detailing but can't seem to scale the arms back by half an inch
Except Scorpio, Aldo Montoya, Bob Holly, and arguably Candido and Busick. Off the top of my head, those deviate from his new norm. I’m not sure what that will mean for other figures going forward. I’m saying that people like the figures. Perhaps despite what some consider disproportionately long arms. I know I like the figures. I’ve bought all but one of them. If you are buying them and don’t like them, I’m sure you’re in the minority. Most people that I’ve heard negatively criticize the figures and admit to not liking them, don’t own any. But, if you are looking for the first person you’ve heard say “I like these figures”, look no further. But really, most people who have bought the figures like them. Since I like them, and I’m not paid to design them myself, I don’t nitpick every decision. Personally, if they keep making figures like the ones they’ve put out thus far, I’m gonna keep buying them.

At the risk of being accused of being your burner account or some thing I am going to have to agree. Not all of these figures are perfect between Bastion Booger being scaled down too much to all of the long arm guys but overall they are good. If you need more Hasbro like figures there are other options, not everyone needs to have them in those poses. I would prefer some signature poses for each character over just arms down by the side, and much more than a jumper or clothesline Hasbro pose. If I were a kid playing with these I would MUCH rather arms to the side so everyone was playable.
You nailed it though, if you do not like the figures no one is making you buy them. Buy what you want and avoid the stuff you do not like, but do realize not everyone has the same tastes and seemingly enough people enjoy the ZST for the line to continue.

Already pointed out in this topic: Bastion Booger is NOT scaled down too much; he's pretty much perfect next to Hasbro Earthquake! Just watch Earthquake vs Bastion Booger on youtube and you'll see!

I actually do believe he could have made 250,000 on the first series. But how long does that money last when you're doing stupid stuff like Bruce Lee, and now you're starting to produce terrible figures? I bet he made a ton off profit of Danhausen and probably Punk, but I bet it's all eventually going to catch up with him... I just can't see it personally, 250k at a 40 dollar profit (which is probably the maximum per figure IMO) would mean he shifted around 6250 figures (1250 of each) to pocket that much
so how many of S1 did he actually produce to begin with, considering he's still got stock available of Series 1 figures, not including the inventory shared with resellers too, and they've been on sale again and again since S1 was first released (though I suspect S1 has undergone at least 1 re-run from the factory)
Mattel can't sell out of their Retros which are just $10 more than a ZST for a pack of four, but he managed to shift thousands of figures, and the profit has carried him this far? same with Sandman, he claims to have "sold out" of 1776 figures? (but didn't mention that other distributors also have them available?)
he's a good salesman, but he's also great at BS'ing to shill his own product
Just following up on this, the Major Bendies SDCC Ric Flair sold 1,000 units in an hour -- at $55 each. We know they're honest about numbers -- so given that, I could easily have seen Zombie selling 1,250 of each figure in Wave 1 back in the day. In fact, I bet he even sold more...

I did not see the Hasbro Earthquake next to Bastion Booger figure but if they are the same height that is off. Quake has a good 4-5" on Booger. He is not scaled down TOO much but still scaled down a bit so his head seems small compared to everyone else. More just something noticeable than a huge issue like the long arms.

That was my point: Booger wasn't tall. Next to Hasbro Earthquake it's near perfect, he's about a head shorter.

I'd say wait until he actually has them before spending money with him. none of his figures have "sold out" before he's received them, and none of his figures are only available from him now, so you'll have plenty of options to buy them either direct from ZST once he's got them in stock, or from resellers
there's just no point paying money for something that he's not got in hand, when he can't even meet his own deadlines for deliveries or shipments

His claim is they're already "on the water and will be here late August/early September." Given his past claims and timelines, I find that dubious. Would certainly be an improved business model if it were true.

Haven’t had a chance to watch it but I did skip around and it seems as though a lot of questions are answered about who will be in the upcoming series as well as where things are at with the 6 inch line:

The CM Punk sample and the Gage/Cardona pack look really good.
