To me this was a huge issue for WCW. This should have been a great ppv it ended up being pretty bad with a error in the ending with the time

Was this the one where they ended up showing us the main event for free on nitro?

Hogan & Warrior went long which cut time from the main event. Although the feed went out for some anyway. The WWE propaganda docs dress this up as a bigger deal than it really was.

I know it is so easy to crap all over this PPV, but this was the most hyped I had ever been for a WCW event. Not just because it had The Ultimate Warrior taking on Hogan, I was excited for most of the matches on this show. It felt like the biggest show WCW ever did to me. However, it was after this event that I started losing major interest in WCW.
When it comes to PPVs in 1998 it was WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and Halloween Havoc that I was most hyped for before the event with this one here probably being just a hair behind WrestleMania!

This should have been a great PPV...but man the cracks really showed here. Page vs Goldberg delivered but the rest of the big matches really didnt and were mired with sh*t booking & crap.

This was probably the most hyped for a WCW PPV for me at the time since Starrcade 97, and like Starrcade 97, it did not go well. Hogan/Warrior was a dud, and even Bret/Sting was not that great. Only good match I remember was Goldberg/DDP, which I had to watch the next night on Nitro because the PPV cut off for me as Horace Hogan was coming down to interfere in the Hogan/Warrior match. Just one more nail in the coffin for WCW.

On paper this entire PPV seemed bigger than Starrcade 97!
But when watching it.... ugh.
And yes, it always bothered me that the WWE portray that Hogan vs. Warrior made it so Goldberg vs. DDP got cut off. The PPV feed didn't cut out for me and my friends, we saw the entire show.

More importantly, 25 years ago WCW/nWo Revenge was released for the N64. I consider that game the pinnacle of WCW right before they hit the proverbial iceberg and went into an unstoppable nosedive.
Anyone who wants a deeper look into the Warrior's brief run in WCW should check out OSW on YouTube. They dedicated an entire arc to that timeline which covers Halloween Havoc 1998. Very entertaining stuff!

You may be right about that one.... the only other WCW Title match that came close to being as entertaining to me was Bret vs. Benoit at Mayhem 99

Being the odd kid that never cared for Hogan or Warrior so I was really only excited for
Hall vs Nash
Rick vs Scott
Bret vs. Sting
Goldberg vs. DDP
Was really only satisfied with Goldberg/Page somewhat liked Goldberg but not a super fan.

like others, i was SOOOOOOOOOO pumped for this event, but it was a bit of a letdown
i knew hulk/warrior would be a bit rough, but thought the bret/sting match would have been a 5 star match
wcw really dropped the ball on that match
1st time these 2 wrestle shoulda been practiced/planned alot more
i was looking forward to all these:
Hulk vs Warrior Bret vs. Sting Goldberg vs. DDP Hall vs Nash Rick vs Scott
