Considering Mattel creations is the home for retros, I was wondering what people thought of a Retro crowdfunded Ring? It would basically be a scaled down version of the Ultimate Edition ring to suit retro figures. Soft goods turnbuckles, canvas aprons etc. It would have a lot of crossover appeal considering all the after market companies making retros these days. Thoughts?

They already have a retro ring. They could just re-release that or repaint it. Or if they wanted to do a new mold then it would cost less than $50 which wouldn’t really necessitate a crowdfund.

I’m not talking about a single molded ring, I’m talking about a realistic version like the Ultimate Editon ring.

Yeah still not seeing a need for a crowdfund as it wouldn’t be that expensive to produce. Especially if you’re scaling down the UE ring to about half the size.

I don’t want the retro ring to look any more realistic than it does, but I sure could go for some properly scaled guardrails and a big blue cage.

I would like to see them just release a black ring in the same mold as they did in the blue before. Gives us red and black ropes and then WCW, ECW, and WWE stickers. Maybe red and black turnbuckles if they want to get really crazy.
In saying that, I would absolutely buy the original version of the Retro ring over again if it came with a big blue cage attachment that clipped onto the posts.
That's about as far as it goes for me. The Retros are dumbed down Hasbros. Giving them some kind of crazy, Elite style, ring doesn't make sense in my mind. The original version of the ring didn't seem like it sold very well, either. So Mattel taking a risk on a higher priced version doesn't seem practical from a business perspective.

Think there is a way to scale it for retros and superstars?

They should do a repaint similar to the king of the ring one. But do Rumble(black) or SS (Red)

My God I would sell my soul for a Retro/Superstar scaled WCW and/or WCW Nitro ring.... when I was a young kid, the Hasbro ring (scaled for Hasbros) was THE RING of my figure-fed (comprised mostly of GI Joes). I loved when they brought out the yellow "King of the Ring" version - that became my ring for PPV's! The scale on this worked very well for my GI Joe "wrestlers".
Realistically they should probably do a RAW or Smackdown themed Retro/Superstar scaled ring!
But no, I don't need all the bells & whistles - the Retros/Superstars are cartoon-ish by nature. I thought the Retro Ring they did previously (as an Homage to the original Hasbro rings) was perfect.

Various independent retro companies are working on a few things. Grapplers and Gimmicks has said that they are working on some sort of playset. Epic Toys expressed interest in one. ZST has also had what you are describing in the works for years now:

There's no need to make it realistic. The retros are stylized and the old hasbro ring was basic and plastic. It makes no sense to put retros in a realistic ring imo.

The entire first crowdfund shrunken down to scale with the retro or even The superstars line would be pretty cool. But sadly I don’t see Mattel doing another WWE crowdfund anytime soon. Maybe I’ll just 3d print one…

Not a fan of the retros at all. They just need to stick with gimmick matches and stages imo.
