I don’t know what to say about the customs. But I will say just because you bought something from them as a BOGO sale the value they have to declare it at is still has to be the full price as if there was no BOGO. Because that is still the true value of the items should the package get lost or damaged and a claim is filed. Literally not true. The value on a customs form is declared as the price paid by the customer. Why would the manufacturer file a claim (incase of loss or damage) greater than the goods were sold for? That’s ridiculously illegal lol. Because the value is the MSRP which is still the full price it’s not a clearance or second hand item. And if they have to replace it and file a claim they aren’t going to lose out twice because the sale is over.

Always has been it’s illegal to claim a greater value than the one the buyer paid and you have to prove the value of the items with the payment receipt when you claim for lost or damaged goods. Every store known to man declares the value on the package as the price the buyer paid. Even RSC does it and their shipping policies are pretty anti consumer. If you’re claiming a price higher than the one the buyer paid you are literally committing fraud.

There is simply no chance for international collectors to get into collecting anymore, too steep prices, unavailability of some important series etc.etc.etc. I have just stopped collecting altogether.

Mattel Creations really is the worst... they used to be good, but ever since they changed to include prices in GBP (rather than USD) and also added their own "shipping and import fees", it flat out SUCKS.
eg. the first two Retro sets, charged in USD were:
$55 + $14.95 shipping = $69.95 (£56 GBP) each, total.
And the third set, after the change, charged in GBP:
£60 + £9 (or £18!) = £69 GBP Total
That's an extra £13 ($16)... for absolutely nothing.
Now, on relatively small figure sets, you can just about stomach the difference. But on a larger set - or something like the Nitro stage - the difference is HUGE (and it ended up hurting everyone in the long run, not just UK/international people).
Plus, it seems to be pot-luck how your parcel is packaged... my Ali figure for example, was just sent in it's outer/shipping box - which is VERY little protection - and it came pretty beaten up. So with this and the pricing issue, I'm avoiding MC and doing deals/buying things elsewhere.
It's all just such a mess. 🤦♂️

An easy solution to this is for mattel to build a warehouse in the uk so things can be shipped domestically. For europe i believe it is screwed as the amount of toy collectors and wrestling fans is far and few between. crappy situation. Shipping rules changed in march of this year and anything sent overseas to europe requires an increased amount of detail on the customs forms and scrutiny when it is received by customs personnel. Any brand new items especially. I sent a declared gift to a friend in europe ( about 110 euros in value) and she had to pay nearly 25%. Not sure on the UK but ever since they left the EU everything shipped out of the uk is very expensive now. For me shipping to the eu or uk is finished. I will only ship to canada now. I am pretty sure soon mattel creations will opt out and do the same. The rules and fees are just too much. This is all done on purpose to reduce carbon. The less people ship the less boats and planes travel overseas and even domestically. Expect things to get worse and not better. I would not be surprised if it goes up to 35% at some point. You'd think it would be as simple as that, but we have a Mattel HQ building here in Canada in Mississauga, Ontario and it's like it doesn't matter at all. It doesn't get us anything special and we miss out on 90% of any line that is Walmart exclusive and about 80% of any line that is Target exclusive as sometimes Legends figures show up here at Toys R Us. Mattels distribution just blows and to use a word from earlier in this thread, the company is just totally tone deaf to the wants, needs and feedback of anyone outside of the United States. Steve does his best to absorb our comments here and pass them where they need to go, but I'm sure it's people above him that are just looking at the dollars and cents of it all and can't be bothered to export products abroad.

Well looks like I wont be getting my order as I literally cant afford to pay (especially this time of month) Mattel have truly screwed people over, HMRC pretty much wont look into this or drop the charges, but they will reimburse you the charges if you can prove they have already been paid for, so thats where Mattel have us as they don't inlcude those charges on our invoices, the disclaimer on the website saying they are included clearly means shit.
This crapis making me want to not bother collecting at all.

I have had packages get to the hub in NJ about an hour away from me in NY and normally I get it the next day but there’s been a couple of times where one ended up in CA the next day and another in KY the next day.
