Shot in the dark (no pun intended) but could it be Brian Pillman? I could see them doing the home invasion segment look minus the gun obviously since that still allows them to sell a more traditional looking Pillman in the MNW line while also putting out a figure for hardcore collectors That doesn't have any mainstream crossover appeal. id argue the no holds barred two pack didnt either. I get Hogan is a bigger name than Pillman but they both only really appealed to wrestling fans that were already collecting

If it's a first time in the line that wrestling fans are eager to add to their collection it will still sell well regardless of it being a mainstream targeted release.

I think it would sell pretty well personally, though they should definitely produce less than they would hogan or a celebrity figure

Steve said it'd be revealed earlier than previous years and last year it got revealed in the first two weeks of July. It got leaked before it got revealed though so it's possible that influenced it

He’s up there with Michael Jackson, Madonna, Mr T, Sylvester Stallone, etc as one of the most recognizable pop culture icons of the 80s. Plus No Holds Barred was a major motion picture that over time has become a so bad it’s good cult classic. Not to mention Tiny Lister has also appeared in several blockbuster hits including Friday and Dark Knight.

Same with Lister, I don't think you get too many people outside of the wrestling collecting bubble that would be interested in getting a Zeus figure. I think the only ones with real crossover appeal were Ali and Slaughter and even Ali I think might have been slightly mismanaged by having it be a two pack instead of just an ultimate in his boxing gear or a two in one with soft goods ref gear

What about the Logan Paul henchmen dressed up as a Prime bottle from WrestleMania 40? I think the kids today would love it

Maybe not this year just because that happened fairly recently but I could see it being the exclusive next year or maybe some kinda render being shown for a MC exclusive

I don’t think they’d do Muhammad Ali again. Or if they did, it would be a long time in coming.
I still think it’s Hulk. Like I mentioned, it’s the 40th anniversary, the No Holds Barred was an instant sellout, and despite what some may think, Hulk Hogan has major crossover appeal.
Lots of good suggestions in this thread, but some of them, while appealing, don’t have that SDCC Exclusive quality.

I make jokes about Ali even tho I honestly don't care how many Ali figures they make. That said, I think it'd be a mistake to do another Ali.
I don't care what Mattel says. I don't believe last year's was that successful.

That wasn’t the only reason at all. That Hogan figure in the Rip gear, and the packaging, made that a hugely appealing exclusive.

I don't believe last year's was that successful. I agree. There’s no way Ali would be offered again, at least this soon. And, I’m fine with Mattel making as many figures of whomever they want. More power to them. And for fans of whichever wrestler/personality in question, that’s great. I don’t disparage anyone for wanting figures in which I have zero interest. I only buy what I want.
