Excited to share the 7TH ANNUAL FIGURE OF THE YEAR SURVEY! In each of the past 6 years we have had over 1,000 responses and look forward to continuing to build it this year. Notes: - This is the official 2023 list. Figure list was double checked by a Mattel legend we all know and love. (Also thanks to azraelms for their help with the list as well.) - Some very popular figures that might be currently available on Ringside are considered 2024 Figures (Ultimate 19, 20, Elite 105+). Although thee might be "out", have to think of it like cars and movies... the "designated" year is the year.
- Is this an imperfect science? Yes. Is this meant to be fun? YES! - Could we argue about what figures should be on this list because they are already for sale on Ringside? NO. Because THIS is the 2023 list! :-) - One new category added that would have been great to have since Year 1: Best Multi-Pack / Unique Offering. Mattel has done such a great job with Multi-Packs and "World Building" options lately and these have become a huge staple across all lines. - Best Hogan, aka " theman Award" returns for a second year.

For the Build-A-Figure you have listed with the Survivor Series elites, you have Rick Rude, but he was last year's BAF choice, this years' BAF with the Survivor Series set is the British Bulldog (from the attitude era, wearing jeans). Also, you're missing the E100 Andre the Giant (regular figure), I see the chase listed but not the regular figure. |

Voted. I still cant get over King Harley Race winning Best Figure of the Year 2018 when almost nobody had that figure especially at the time the survey was done.

Chase Figures:
(CHASE) just indicates that figure was the chase of the set. We’ve always treated chases as one listing so we continued with that again this time. Look at it as a 2-for-1. A vote for one counts as a vote for both.
Ultimate Razor is a great example of why this felt like the right approach. You’d have to imagine that figure is one of the 10-15 figures with a shot at Figure of the Year. If you split it into 2 different listings you also split the votes, giving it virtually no shot to win.
Certainly multiple ways to look at it, but this felt like the best approach to avoid penalizing a figure for being given two different colorways.

I think the survivor series ultimate two pack Undertaker will go under the radar here because we have had so many grey era Takers but it’s incredible, the absolute definitive version of Taker from that era. Headscan is brilliant and we finally have the correct tie and hat. Posed correctly it brings that classic trading card / promo pic that we’ve all seen for years to life in figure form.

3 hours and 100+ votes in… couldn’t help but peak at early returns.
Would have never guessed what’s leading for FOTY. And it has some room on #2. Great fig, but probably not even in my personal Top 25. Wild.
Going to share the link on X and FB so responses will jump quick… We’ll see if it can go wire-to-wire.
