This just proves the point that no matter what you do people won't ever be happy. The figure is great with the tan, IMO, as previously mentioned it makes everything else pop out. I'd go as far as to say it's a strong contender for Figure of the year so far. Or maybe people asked for a Warrior with a little more tan in his skin like the real guy and Mattel went overboard and people noticed. I'm thinking that's it. My point was that no matter their decision on the tan, someone would complain - wasn't singling out someone specifically. If they had done no tan, someone would've complained. If they did it too dark, someone would've complained. If they did the tan you're asking for, someone else would've complained. There's picture/videos of the guy with diff levels of tanning, so yeah everybody would have their own preference. My point, again, was that: Mattel can't listen and do everything the collector's ask for cause it's thousands of diff voices and POVs. And I'm not saying Mattel is perfect with their choices and I agree with everything they do, it's more like some things are hit or miss and if I like it I'll collect it, if I don't I won't buy it and that's it. No need to make it 'OMG THIS IS THE WORST FIGURE EVER CAUSE THE GREEN IS NOT THE SAME GREEN AS THIS 1987 PICTURE TAKEN WITH A POTATO IN A POORLY LIT ARENA'.

I let this go 5 pages deep before I gave my two cents. We shouldn't post about this guys reviews. It was unnecessary to use his screenshots as nobody cares for his likeness as part of the topics discussion. More people out there that share the same feelings about this guys reviews. And in the real world where you can't hide behind algorithm. He is not so over and loved as he would like to think he is (with his few planted fans) and it shows. This is not a matter of opinion but a proven fact.

I've just cropped him out. I feel bad for mentioning him now and letting him become a topic of conversation. Anyway, clearly an interesting debate. I honestly think they mistakenly used the older, darker Hogan colour instead of the 'hot dog' tan. I really can't imagine the request at Mattel to use this specific tan. When you're dealing with as many figs as they do each year, I guess mistakes happen. I just hope this isn't the default skin tone we get from now on for Warrior.

As a Warrior guy...I think it is fair to say that the fig probably spent just a smidge long in the oven, but the fig is outrageously good. The duster, the colors, the head sculpts, so good. It has taken forever for Mattel to get these tans translated to figs like Hogan and Warrior so I'm really happy. Hopefully Mattel sees the feedback and maybe dials it back just a notch on the next Warrior figure, but I think the positives outweigh the negatives here exponentially. Early front runner for fig of the year in my opinion

Personally, I find this sort of post complaining about "complainers" far more irritating. Que sera, sera. We're here to talk about these figures. It's not always going to be champagne and roses.

It’s not bad nor inaccurate. Maybe a tad to that match specifically but there are plenty of images where the Ultimate Warrior is the king of spray tan universe.
It’s a nice figure. From the perspective of someone with a Fine Arts degree, I know that the colors (face paint, etc) would not have “popped “ with a lighter tone. It’d have looked very unnatural.

Follow up: I’m not a Warrior guy. It’s just a nice figure & I know his contributions to wrestling.

Mine arrived today. I took a picture without flash in comparison to the TNFT tan Hogan (& Rocky): I really like this figure. The tan could stand to be a smidge lighter, but I think it adds a lot to the presentation of the figure and the vibrant colors he has. So you think Warrior's skin was darker than the Rock's? Your future as a Mattel employee is very, very bright should you choose that path, my friend. Carry on, my wayward son. At times, it definitely was. Warrior went awfully heavy on the bronzer that bodybuilders use during the height of his run. Check out some pictures of the Rock and then look at Warrior from Wrestlemania 6.

If anyone ever writes a history of this forum one day, I hope they title it "Torsos & Tans." Spreadsheets, torsos, tans, kickpads, leg sleeves, and shades of yellow and purple: A tale of the Mattel Wfigs Boards. I never thought I’d miss the Jakks Days…forum wise that is.

"His skin is so dark so the neon colors will pop more" is one of the funniest things I've ever read on this forum, especially now that I actually bought this figure. The things we tell ourselves. I think I'm gonna return it. Hope the 2nd time they do this figure, be it in a Greatest Hits series or whatever, they get it right.

I cannot speak on the accuracy of the shade of tan on this figure, but I am digging it. The neon colors and hot dog tan scream the late 80s/early 90s.

The guy complaining about the figure’s skin tone on every page while ignoring all the pictures proving him wrong is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read on this forum.

Wfigs: Mattel needs to give us a roasted tan Ultimate Warrior
Mattel: *Gives us a tanned Warrior*
Wfigs: He’s too dark, he never had a hotdog roasted tan
I hope Mattel gives us a Sheamus skintoned Warrior at this point, just to see this board flip out. I think we need to stop asking for suggestions that might not be executed correctly or people won’t be satisfied with. Mattel does listen from time to time, but some of these suggestions just aren’t good to begin with. They just sound good on paper:
Mr.Perfect with removable singlet Ultimate Kurt with removable cloth singlet Goldberg with smoking head Nitro stage (this was a good idea, just didn’t get executed)

For Warrior fans who have existing warrior figures it’s a joke. It’s a shame because they nailed this figure. Everyone knows they messed up. He was most tanned at WM6 and even that wasn’t as dark as the Hogan hot dog tan. The stupid thing is, the upcoming basics are still light so what was the point in changing this figure?

eddiep I honestly don’t think it’s that bad. Mind you, I hate it when Mattel gets their colors wrong. I think people would of complained if this Warrior had the regular tone regardless.

Kind of like a What If/Elseworlds figure.
