I love when figures ship before they even get around to revealing them. I know Mattel love their monthly dump of photos but scooping yourself seems counterproductive.

And I thought them shipping off Basic 145 before final images were shown was bad, half the figures in this wave don't even have renders. It's assumed the Kevin matches the Sami but who knows? Look what they did with Elite 106. This is just... You know, if Mattel is gonna be doing their monthly dump of photos, it really would do them good to actually reveal figures during it. Less focus on "final in package shots" of figures we already have seen and know about and spend some time showing off figures that are due to come out shortly that nobody has the slightest clue what they are. I mean, you'd think people would be more likely to buy figures that they know what they are, but that's just a wild theory I have, who knows. |

Still unsure as to why Mattel decided to go back to the old KO head and haven’t been using the E101 head, but still looks good regardless! |

My Vincis’ arrived today. Keeping them both MOC but definitely a good first figure. The only suggestion would be to have made his shoulders & head a tad sleeker. All in all, great first figure & nowhere near as bad as the clowns were saying.
Imperium is now complete!

So these are the people that pay double for basics... 🤨 Again, I don't know how to tell you that paying 30 dollars for a basic now is much better than paying 70 dollars for it later. I've been tracking the Toxic Attraction figures for ages now and it's only within the last couple weeks or so that the prices on secondary have reached a reasonable level. And that's just because everyone flooded the secondary market with them. Not everyone has a store nearby that they can try and figure hunt in. Some people like me, it's either pay the 30 bucks for the basic preorder, or accept that you aren't finding it within 6 months for anything less than 60 dollars. I mean, look at the other thread with the Tiffany Stratton figure. Even Amazon isn't the best place to try and follow up with. They're advertising Tiffany but showing Gunther. Who knows what people are gonna get? Paying 30 bucks for a basic on preorder is nobody's idea of a good time but, for some people, it's the only way we have of getting the figures. |

Was it because people complained about the paint apps? I know I wasn't too fond of the way Kevin's eyes turned out on the E101, but at least the hair was more accurate. Although, honestly, still waiting on a good screaming headsculpt. That "Austin" head is perfection if you put hair on him, why can't we get one of those on a figure? Any figure? Throw us a bone here, if anyone deserves a screaming headsculpt it's the guy who is specifically known for screaming at people. |

There's clearly an issue with those few series specifically. Honestly, I tried to go the route of other etailers that would sell the Toxic Attraction figures. My order was cancelled on me and the only reason I got the figures for a reasonable price after that without resorting to secondary was because I was randomly online for what had to be a 30 minute window when RSC put up a restock. Got them for I think 40 dollars combined. But after I completely missed B-Fab on RSC, I wasn't taking the chance on Tiffany and, frankly, I'm glad because she was gone within a day. I don't think it's just those few series, I think it's a case where after Aliyah went fast, people started freaking out when Toxic Attraction went up, bought them up fast. And then B-Fab went up and she was gone overnight and now I fear it's just gonna be a thing where when a FTIL Women's figure goes up, people are going to panic buy the figure on day one, regardless of price... which, of course, is why RSC will put them online for 30 dollars right off the bat. Essentially, perceived scarcity plus opportunistic pricing. That's the system for you, and I don't believe it's going to change, at least, not regarding FTIL women's basics, any time soon. |
