Kind of strange, but I don’t think we’ve ever gotten survivor series ‘97 Bret Hart. I think it’s his most iconic look. Hope we could get an ultimate some day. isn’t the DM and MNW UE the same look? If not, what would the differences be? They're very similar, but different enough in the tights to warrant a separate figure IMO: Here's Canadian Stampede, that the original DM is based on: Here's the match vs Shamrock that the MNW is going to be based on IIRC, which looks very similar if not identical to the Canadian Stampeded DM: Here's Survivor Series 1997:

CODY! Cody has had how many figures so far. Have any of them had attires that actually existed in real life? I feel like the one basic in gray was real, but every other one seems like color patterns Mattel just made up.

If not, what would the differences be? Not the same look my man. SS ‘97 and the UE attire are different. Differences would be the flames on his tights. The pink flames would be where the white flames are. I believe the pink was also more saturated too. For the WCW version of the same attire he sported black wrist tape and circular sunglasses. The DM and UE is the same though as you stated.

Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake Brutus as the Barber gimmick definitely needs revisited now that TrueFX can do much more detailed tights. I’d go with those purple tights that had kind of a snakeskin type pattern.

Jimmy Snuka. Why Mattel chose the pants and boots version over his iconic look is beyond anyone.

Jimmy Snuka. Why Mattel chose the pants and boots version over his iconic look is beyond anyone. Made sense at the time. Legends was to be the spiritual successor to the CSS line, a continuation of sorts if you will. So they didn’t want to do a lot of looks that were previously done by Jakks so early into the line to lure CSS collectors that were hesitant to start a new collection.

Cody’s iconic figure is his AEW Supreme. Honestly? This. And that UE 21 figure is gonna have to be something spectacular to top it.

A Bret Hart with a great looking likeness and shades like he actually wore.

WM4/Hasbro attire is what I typically picture as the most iconic barber look. I agree with all of this. Would be nice to have the duffle bag he put the shears in too. I would also like shorter hair 1989 Brutus when he was feuding with Macho and Sherri and occasionally teaming with Hogan. These black gloves and the short hair.

I have long ago stopped having this level of faith in Mattel. I love Mattel figures, don't get me wrong, but even seeing renders I will never again be in a place of "This can't go wrong". Something can always go horribly wrong at any point along the way, with any figure company. Nothing is guaranteed "Better" anymore. I'll believe something is good when I see the finished product.

As with all companies that have a license for a product 10+ years, quality will suffer eventually. At the end of the day though the figure itself (1st ultimate Cody) is better than the supreme function wise. However due to the color scheme and the oversized coat it appears inferior to the supreme and I will give it that. The Supreme was more or less "right place, right time" imo just like the punk supreme. Very good looking figure once the shirt and coat covers the jazzwares style body it does look cool. Jazwares really lucked out. (I wonder what next supreme they make that jumps right to WWE 😂) The coat is getting fixed, and it won't be mustard colored, those are the only 2 improvements the 1st ultimate needed imo.

I always liked the pink and white look from Summer Slam 1989 and Royal Rumble 1990. They could include two heads, one with the shorter hair (SSL89) and one with the longer hair (RR90). The pink and white jacket, and the bag for the scissors.

It shows a date of 6/22/1990. So, this would be just before his parasailing accident in August of 1990. Possible he was going for a new look at this time, but since the accident occurred, the audience didn't see it very often. Here's another imagine of him with blond hair, from the same time period in his feud with Perfect.
