For all of us hoping for new first time in the line figures it got me thinking about who I would want to really complete the line and feel like my collection is done or at the very least as complete as it possibly could be so I put together a list of everyone I could think it from each era of WWF. I’ll do an NWA/WCW one at a later date
60s the chances of us getting a deep cut here are slim but one can wish Arnold Skaaland Bill Watts Bobo Brazil Boris Malenko Gorilla Monsoon Haystacks Calhoun Johnny Rodz Buddy Rodgers Killer Kowalski Vincent J McMahon
1970s Jesse Ventura Bob Backlund Giant Baba Pedro Morales Pat Patterson Brisco Brothers Ivan Putski The Blackjacks Ray Stevens Stan Stasiak Moolah The grand wizard
Golden Era Hercules The Killer Bees The British Bulldogs Mr.Fuji The Genius/Lanny Poffo Dino Bravo Rugged Ronny Garvin Ernie Ladd Johnny Valiant SD Jones Ken Patera Koko B Ware Tony Atlas Fabulous Rougeaus Paul Roma Jim Powers Adrian Adonis Bad News Brown One Man Gang Haku Butch Reed Brooklyn Brawler Barry Horowitz Iron Mike Sharpe The Conquistadors Boris Zhukov Slick Tom Zenk Barbarian Jack Tunney Dave and Earl Hebner Joey Marella Lord Alfred Hayes Sean Mooney Jesse Ventura announcer Nailz
New Gen Smoking Gunns Adam Bomb Giant Gonzalez Jeff Jarret Ludvig Borga Pierre Mo Bob Holly Bull Nakano Harvey Whippleman Hakushi Max Moon Ahmed Johnson Savio Vega Flash Funk Marc Mero Marlena Headbangers The Godwinns The Patriot
Attitude Era Too Cool Droz Funaki Taka Gangrel Jacqueline Luna Vachon Steve Blackman Test Albert Tori Crash Holly Ivory Mean Street Posse Nicole Bass Sable Stevie Richards Bull Buchanan The KAT Essa Rios Perry Saturn Raven Val Venis Rhyno
I don’t collect figures for any eras after the attitude it’s my cut off. Did I miss any? Thoughts?

hulk hogan with hot dog tan, hulk rules shirt, red bandana, and winged eagle belt around his waist mint on card i I was referring to people who haven’t had figures yet. I love Hogan just like anyone who grew up in the 80s but we definitely need some new blood into the line

Bob Backlund,Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco all have figures. I think he's saying who is missing from each era that he still wants in his collection - 60s, 70s, Golden Era, New Gen, Attitude Era. Backlund, Patterson, and Brisco are 90s versions and he has them listed under 70s. Sure, they gave Patterson and Brisco wrestling gear underneath, but the scans are def older (although Patterson could probably still pass since he has always looked old). He does mention FTIL so it is a little confusing - maybe he doesn't know they already had a figure released (so did Gorilla Monsoon). And he also lists Mr. Fuji in Golden Era, but not in the pre Golden Era. He has Ventura under 70s and GE (as announcer). I'm thinking the OP isn't aware that Mattel (and probably most collectors) wouldn't consider a 70s Jesse Ventura as a FTIL IF they already released a Golden Era Jesse. So maybe he isn't fully using the FTIL terminology correctly (although Mattel hasn't always been consistent let alone doesn't always include it on packaging). Tracking figures by eras will get messy. Personally, id rather track by character (which can also get messy). For example, I would consider the Sultan a FTIL even though Mattel or other collectors might not. On the flip side, I wouldn't consider a Make a Difference Fatu FTIL since it is just Fatu in an ugly jacket.

Only the flip side, I wouldn't consider a Make a Difference Fatu FTIL since it is just Fatu in an ugly jacket. I like your thinking on this. I find that sorting out wrestlers can be unnecessarily annoying; you may want to use a particular system, but something unique always goes against the grain. Fatu, as you mentioned, is a great example. You can file The Sultan as a separate character, but Make a Difference Fatu just an evolution of Fatu the tag wrestler and if I wanted to use them on the same card/event and pretend they were different people, I’d have to tweak their names so they don’t clash. Likewise if I was doing a list. I wouldn’t want them listed under one name in the same profile as they are different versions/gimmicks even if they are the same character. ‘Make a Difference’ is just our reference for him and too long and wordy to be part of his name though. I try to get round this when I can, for instance when I do a figure fed, I use Dolph Ziggler in his hot pants and short hair as ‘The Show-Off’ Nic Nemeth and the long tights version as Dolph Ziggler, long haired Jericho as YJ2 and both Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart are their singles versions and their tag team selves are The Hitman and The Anvil. The idea is to be able to quickly see on paper which gimmick or version is which and also to differentiate between them, but this doesn’t always work for a generic definitive list. For example if I had Fatu vs Crush, it’s harder to say who would win as Fatu could be the Headshrinker version against Kona Crush, so you would have the singles guy win, but what if it was Fatu in his singles get-up and Crush came out in his Demolition gear? Fatu should win as the singles guy. But just having Fatu v Crush leaves it too ambiguous and it’s the same with lists. I like my lists to have different eras or gimmicks listed separately (sometimes with tweaked names), but not broken down so much that each attire difference is listed separately like it is on the video games. Speaking of video games, I don’t like how they name them as Undertaker ‘99 or John Cena ‘05. I think making a definitive list is really difficult as most lists of the wrestling kind would need to be tailored for each individual depending on how they like to file these things, which makes them unsuitable then for general use. As for this definitive list of who’s missing. Well, it’s everyone/attire that hasn’t been made, doesn’t need a list really, besides, it would be huuuuuuuuuuuuge!

On the flip side, I wouldn't consider a Make a Difference Fatu FTIL since it is just Fatu in an ugly jacket. I was definitely thinking first time in the line 🤣🤣 then curtailed a little bit on a couple of them. For instance if we got the godwinns we could get a mideon, I know we got a gorilla as an announcer but it would be cool if we got his heel wrestling run. I personally don’t think it’ll ever come close to even checking the one off I made. Whether it be WWE not getting them deals for lack of interest or some of these guys have passed away long ago and maybe they don’t want to deal with it or there could the issue of they don’t know who runs their estate. I also think every year that passes by the percentage drops even lower. Let’s face it these eras of wrestling were our loves as a child and as we get older I’m sure collectors slowly drop off or lose interest. I’m sort of at that crossroads myself for collecting this line since the start and not missing out on any of the figures they released from the eras I collect. I’ve been buying significantly less more and more the past few years due to lack of talent they have. I’m excited for the mania reveals because it pretty much tells me the next 12 months and aside from the headbangers contract that was out there no one else has really been mentioned. I know Pillman just came back but we will probably not see anything this soon at Mania more likely something at Comic-Con for next year. The Dudleyz got signed too for me that’s a one off maybe two an attitude era set and an ECW set
