More WM stuff during the season...the 40th WM is approaching soon!!
I'd WM14 is one of my favs tbh but what about you guys?
I understand the show itself seems kinda weak looking back, but I loved it back then. We'd always rewatch the VHS video tapes of it many times. Me, older brother, cousins, uncles, mates etc.
Legit everyone was talking about it!! The hype was crazy at school, college, University etc. All my friends still rewatch it til today.
Austin vs HBK & Taker vs Kane was the highlights. HHH vs Owen was alright & so was the Dumpster match. Everything else is meh lol.

The Battle Royal was an epic way to start of the event. I remember being so excited when the Road Warriors returned and won.
The card was full of other great matches.
HHH Vs Owen
The Dumpster Match
Taker Vs Kane
Austin Vs HBK.

I don't think it cracks my top tier, but WrestleMania XIV was a fun show and much better than both XIII/XV in my opinion.

Another one not on my fav list but still a decent show overall and yep def better than XIII and XV
The shot of Austin holding up the belt with JR saying ''The Austin era has begun!'' will forever be iconic

I remember before the WWE Network was a thing, if I was in the mood to watch "that time frame" of the WWF attitude era, Wrestlemania 14 was my go to.
I feel that it's still a fun show to watch, and we get the last HBK match for 4 years until his return, and the Austin era begins!

I loved this show, I cannot imagine how anyone who was a fan at this time was not 110 percent invested in Austin's rise to WWF Champion. Watching this match back is brutal as you can see the pain on HBK's face, especially when he drops that elbow off the top rope. I was all in on Undertaker vs Kane too, Rock and Shamrock was something I was excited for too and while it did not turn out great, I was so into LOD 2000, and this was the hottest Sunny ever looked. In my game room I have an original 1998 WrestleMania XIV PPV poster that has followed me from my teenage bedroom, my university accommodation and the two houses my wife and I have lived in since. It is still in the same glass frame that I bought for it all the way back in 1998.

Owen was working injured after having landed awkwardly at a Raw just before the PPV. So I'd say it's commendable that he'd even have a decent match.

Excellent event that had a proper mania feel to it. I felt the last few WM’s were a bit flat but a lot of hype in to this one. Austin, Tyson, Taker v Kane.
I always thought Tyson was booked to perfection in the lead up to the event and in hindsight $3.5m for a handful of appearances was a steal

I love this show. 1998 is by far my favorite year in wrestling. I was 11 years old and my parents ordered 5 PPVs for me in 98 and this was the first one I ever ordered. Each match (minus the light heavyweight title match) had a huge build up.
I could watch this ppv over and over. This show is in my top 5!

I was there live so yes, this one has a special place in my heart. If I separate head from heart it really isn't the greatest of shows. I can't help, but feel many of the matches reached a level of decent, but didn't reach past that to become all timers. Austin/HBK is the match of the night, but even that feels somewhat lacking. Unfortunate that Shawn's back wasn't in a place for him to go all out.
