I think the rules are you can’t post a link, but the Sandman 111 is currently going for $128 & the bid’s not even over… That seller is the worse. There’s another one on eBay, but it looks like it’s scamming people regularly. They’ll just say the item wasn’t available & relist it. SOS is the handle. Yeah somethings fishy with that auction. That auction was sitting at around $57 I believe, then a chase sold at $80 as a buy it now. After that suddenly the auction jumped to $120 plus.

You can't "get" scalped. You allow yourself to get scalped by overpaying for something.

Well no, obviously I'm not held at gunpoint and forced to buy the figure but if I want something and the only means to get it is to pay more for it online than there is some external force at play. Seems like you get the spirit of the question even if you don't agree with the semantics

Yeah, their ratings are less than 99 which is always a red flag for me. Plus I’ll see the same stuff relished over & over. Definitely a scammer.

I won’t be buying from the based on the other reviews & again, what you’re saying could be but why is it only happening to this one person….

If a figure was released years ago, I don’t necessarily count it as scalping. However, a newly released figure 100%. Most I’ve paid for a WWE figure I believe was $50. It was for the black singlet Monday Night Wars Bret and even then I found it expensive. I don’t necessarily pay over the counter unless it’s a must have.

Haven't overpaid for anything for a LONG time thanks to plenty of help picking up the harder to get guys. Been very lucky that way.

That Sandman chase auction ended I think, but there's no history of the sale. A few hours before the same seller made a buy it now listing for the same figure at $129. Still fishy.

Idk if I’d exactly call it being scalped but I just bought a Moc RSC exclusive Kane ( the one of him in chains that comes with the towel & mask & is outrageous in price now because there was something that happened where their warehouse was flooded or something & it screwed up a bunch of the boxes of the figure ) … it’s in brand new condition from eBay for $200 plus shipping … the buy it now price was $300 but amazingly enough I was the only bidder & got it for the $200 starting bid price … I actually consider it to be “cheap” considering how much others want for it on there, I’ve seen some in the past that are Moc with $400 & $500+ price tags on them … however, on the flip side, I landed a Moc Legends series 6 Ultimate Warrior from the Bay for $45 a few months back & those have price tags that are usually at least $100 or more these days, only thing wrong with it was the hanging tab was torn loose which was easily fixed with some scotch tape … so I sorta look at it as breaking even a little bit in a way

The most I’ve paid for a figure was 75 twice.. One was L6 warrior moc which I later sold for 125 One was sdcc undertaker moc which I still think to this day is the best undertaker and perhaps the best looking Moc in the entire Mattel wwe line.

Not terrible all things considered. I've gotten hit for over 100 twice, first with the SDCC Slaughter and shortly after 110ish for Legends 1 Animal

They sent me an offer on the one being auctioned for 100.00 I declined & almost wrote back “thanks for your scamming efforts” but I did not.

Just bought MNW Kevin Nash for about double the retail price + shipping.
Broke my moral code but 40+ trips to Walmart came up empty and I threw in the towel. I can't keep wasting all this time/gas/effort looking for one stinkin' figure that Walmart is playing some kind of game with.
First time I fed the scalpers since the Gorilla Monsoon Elite figure (also a Walmart exclusive that I was not able to find, anywhere).
To me, Hall & Nash are essential to the "Monday Night Wars" and I really wanted both in my collection. Walmart can do whatever they want with the rest of these, I'm not doing this again.
To quote the Monday Night Wars..... I suggest Walmart "take those shippers, turn those sum-b****s sideways, and......."

As a general rule I don’t pay anything, maybe a couple dollars more than retail for figures. WWE, Star Wars mostly
I willingly paid double for one of the SCAR Stormtroopers because they had completely dried up and I generally get all figures of the bad guys. Didn’t want to miss out
As for wrestling. Only thing I end up overpaying for, is MOC Clsssic Superstars, for signings. Overpaid for Abdullah, Nikita, ECW Dudley’s, and more. But to me those are worth it (to get signed in person)

I'm glad I'm not interested in snagging anything on the WCW side minus the two ultimates they've done so far and Harlem Heat

I used to be a completist back in the early days of mattel and the classic superstar line from jakks, but now that I'm an old man I don't sweat it too much if I miss out on a figure. If I can't find it retail, I'm OK not having it.

Will have to overpay the whole MNW Ultimates… so annoying these are US exclusives. At least r&rc will have me covered moving forward…
