More WM stuff during its season...3 weeks away from WM40!
Do you guys enjoy WM24? Yes? No? Good? Bad? Lame? Great? Epic? Amazing? Classic? Overrated? Underrated?
It had 74K fans & 1 million buys. I personally enjoyed this show. Lots of fun action. I'd probably put it in my top 10 or 15 tbh.
Taker vs Edge was a great match, HBK vs Flair was a classic, HHH/Cena/Orton was good, MITB was good, JBL/Finlay was good, Kane winning the ECW title was cool. Big Show vs Mayweather was OK, but it was also a HUGE attraction at the time.
I recommend checking this out or rewatching it whenever you can.

I was about to say that this is one of the best "modern" WrestleManias, but this thing is the better part of 20 years old!
This was one that I really enjoyed, Undertaker vs Edge is one of Undertaker's best WrestleMania matches in my opinion, these two always worked really well together. I also feel it is one of Orton's better WrestleMania matches too, I really liked that triple threat match. I would not say that there was anything here that blew my mind, but it was mostly all solid and enjoyable stuff, apart from Big Show, I was completely done with Big Show by this point and had zero interest in this match at all! At this time I was a big Batista fan and while I also like Umaga, I hated "brand warfare" stuff so I wish those two just had a match and were not involved with that forced brand supremacy stuff.
The set was really cool and they get cool points from me for using the Red Hot Chilli Peppers as the theme song too.

GREAT match! batista vs umaga ws fun too. show vs mayweather was laughable at best as show would literally kill him in seconds in a real fight

Always think of Naitch/HBK when it comes to this Mania. What a story told
Just a shame Ric had to tarnish it with his TNA run. I love the guy my fav wrestler of all time but man what a dumb move to throw this fantastic sendoff away like that...

I remember at the time and all the build up that went with it which was done so well. I never truly believed that this would be the last time Ric Flair would wrestle. Being honest, he was never one of my favorites, but with the epic career he had, it would have been a great way for him to bring his career to a close.

On such a card, Floyd and Big Show was my favourite match. Up until then, it was easily the best celebrity match WWE had done.
Its a show I've only seen once apart from the Show and Floyd match, so I couldn't recall at all what happened in matches like Flair / Michaels, and Taker / Edge except for how they ended. Not being that big of a Flair or Edge fan, its not really something I'd go out of my way to rewatch. Batista and Umaga was pretty fun, loved how Batista managed to pick Umaga up for the powerbomb. It also had the moment backstage where Mr Kennedy done the "Kennedy!" shtick to Kim Kardashian.

Was this the year that Cena kept interjecting himself in the WWE World Title picture even though someone else had the match already? I remember a year when John Cena kept inserting himself into the WWE Title match on multiple occasions. I remember a year when he won the Royal Rumble, but instead of waiting until WrestleMania that year to challenge the champion, he wanted to face the champion as soon as possible. So, they gave him his title shot at the February PPV. He didn't win the title, though he may have won by DQ or count out, but he didn't win the belt. On one of the Raw shows leading to WrestleMania, Triple H wanted to face off with Orton for the title belt. I believe this was the year that Orton DDT'd Stephanie, then HHH attacked Orton at his home, so they had an actual feud going with some heat behind it. Then out comes John saying what's better than a one-on-one match between HHH and Orton... it should be a triple threat match between himself, Orton and HHH. So, at the next PPV (I believe WrestleMania), they have the triple threat match, and Orton wins the match and retains the title. Triple H comes out on Raw the next night and challenges Orton again to a one-on-one match since he never got one - story-wise, he still wanted to beat the hell out of Orton for DDTing his wife. Cena comes out again saying to HHH that Cena deserves the one-on-one match. Then JBL comes out and says that HHH and Cena had their shot at the title and lost, now it was his turn. So, what does John do, he says you know what's better than a one-on-one match and a triple threat match... a fatal 4-way match. At the next PPV, they have the fatal 4-way match between himself, Orton, HHH, and JBL, and Cena loses again. It started to get really annoying; made it hard to watch wrestling at that time.

Solid show. One of my favorites but like many Manias it comes down to two main matches and this show is HBK - Flair and Taker - Edge
Decent under card

I thought the WWE made him do that angle.

If a guy can still go it should be a farewell for now type of thing instead of closing a door that's disrespectful to reopen. The likes of Rock, Goldberg, Cena etc can come and go as they please because they never officially retired.

One match show for me in Undertaker vs Edge....the most jeopardy the streak was ever in up to that point IMO.

Seeing Taker come out with his classic coat was a huge mark out moment.
I wish they had mentioned that Edge was also undefeated at WM. It could've been Streak vs Streak.

I thought they did mention that. Or maybe they didn't... But Edge was in the MITB 2007 match and didn't win so I never understood how he was undefeated

It wasnt a bad show, but we have gotten so many lackluster Wrestlemania in the 10 years after this (25, 27, 31, 32) it looks like one of the best ever in comparison.
