wrestlemania 4 is one of my top fav manias of all time. its the only WWF PPV i got to order from 1986-1992. we had a black box for cable but it didnt hav pay-per-view on it so i couldnt order them which sucked so bad. but i went to my moms in arizona in 1988 and they ordered wm4 for me. (but life made it up to me in 1992 tho as my new girlfriends parents had a black box that did hav pay per view and got all wwf/wcw ppvs from 1992 to 1999 for free. PLUS all UFC pay per views as well) wm4 was four of the greatest hours of my life! i was pumped for every match and loved em all! 16 matches! only bummers for me was no savage/steamboat 2, both hulk/andre eliminated 1st match, gang/bigelow being so short, and beefcake not winning IC belt which i thought he was gonna for sure! but i was so pumped for the event none of it mattered. Rating: a solid A for me! I LOVED the tourny! I LOVED the battle royal! I LOVED the 6-man tag! I LOVED the IC title match! I LOVED the tag title match! (demo's start to greatness here) I LOVED savage winning the belt/tourny! I LOVED it being at ritzy Trump Plaza! so what are your thoughts on this event? did you like the tourny? did you like who won? were you happy demo beat strike force? was 4 hrs to long or made it special?

Of course I enjoyed it. Probably the biggest roster the WWF ever had. My only change would have been to cut the tournament in half. A lot of those matches went about 5-6 minutes. If they cut the tournament in half, the matches could have doubled in time which would have been better.

I love this PPV event!
Perfect PPV event to watch if you are feeling nostalgic for that era of the WWF. You get so many of the WWF wrestlers on that show with the battle royal, the tournament, and the other matches.
It was always a favourite to rent at the local variety store when I was a kid and even into my early teen years.

I never saw it when it happened, but the VHS blew my mind as a kid. It was the first double VHS I ever saw. A wrestling event so big it was on two tapes! I got it at some point in 1991.
I loved martial arts movies with a tournament, to this day Bloodsport is one of my favourite movies so the tournament thing was really cool.
It's not one of my favourite WrestleMania shows, but most of the matches are short and do not overstay their welcome.

My only gripe with the PPV was with so many matches on this card quantity edged out the quality on a few of the matches. Have the first two rounds on WWF programming. Save the second round match with Hogan v Andre for the PPV. Semi final and final on the PPV Those eliminated from the tournament can be shoehorned in to the battle royal. Make it a 30 man event and can act as a precursor to the 89 Royal Rumble increasing to 30 men.

A big yay from me. This was the show that made me a fan. I know it gets a bad rap in many circles, but I’ll always defend this show.

Top 10 overall, top 5 of those pre-2003. A few finishes kinda peeve me off but accounting for the whole dang tournament makes the short matches forgivable. The OG Mania battle royale was fun, and of course Savage's coronation despite that dirty devious Hulkster.

What still gets me all these yrs later is Hogan used the chair first on Andre and wasnt DQed but when Andre used it then the ref throws the match out... Marella giving Hogan a break just like he did a year earlier!
