Andre makes the most sense, but if they want to ensure a high volume of sales, it’s probably Warrior… I’m sure they wrestled, but I don’t specifically remember a major feud between the 2, so it would be a $$$ decision. Of course Heenan would work as well, but that won’t work for most collectors (not me, I’d buy them in a flash, but more broadly, it probs needs to be A level talent to make Haku viable in the CC line)

But LJN Haku was not released as King. That was just the prototype. The released version was Islander attire. So if the CC version is Islander, who comes with him then?

My ultimate dream for a Haku CC would be for them to make an exception to the theme and make a Tama figure that would match the Islander Haku that the set would naturally contain.
But I doubt that would happen. More than likely they will go with the unreleased King Haku rather than the Islanders figure that was actually made.

King Haku was going to be in the final/lost wave, so he’s fair game. And as others have stated, pairings haven’t mattered a whole lot. But he’s likely not a big enough name to “anchor” a set. So pairing him with someone like Andre or Warrior seems most likely to me.

You can put Harley Race with Haku. During the time frame Race was still King, he was pretty much getting ready to retire, but he elevated Haku and lost the King to him. Both were managed by Heenan. You can also put Haku with British Bulldog as a nod to the WrestleMania 3 match.

I’d want Davey Boy in his LJN attire, but something tells me he’d be in the white Union Jack tights like his (relatively) recent elite.

Since a competitor just released their own DBS, it would be such a WWE move (well Mattel really but doing the E's work) to release a CC DBS to one-up another company. And I'd be here for it. And I think he'd be a big enough name to anchor, especially if paired with a B-level figure.

If it’s Haku’s first Mattel figure, that will be a big enough draw that it would be a good opportunity to pair him with someone who wouldn’t sell as well. If it’s not, he’ll need a stronger second figure.

Personally I hope if he’s in the CC set it’s the islander one as I keep the CC together as a seperate collection. I’d want a King Haku for the main collection. I also think it would sell better for Mattel that way around, I don’t think islander sells as well as an elite.

I definitely want an Islanders Haku taking priority in the CC line, but I certainly wouldn’t turn down the unreleased version.
I plan to swap Steamboat’s legs to red ones to recreate his unreleased prototype, anyway. It just pops more.
