Man, this might be the first MNW set I complete.
DDP in jeans...and both the lighter jeans & darker blue ones! It's not even the sparkly ones he wore with Leno/Malone, it's his regular TV look! I wonder if he comes with black abdominal tape on the darker jeans one? Other little thing I noticed: the finger tape is white on the darker one and black on the lighter one - nice attention to detail. I'm guessing he probably won't get the diamond cutter shirt since it's a BAF line, but I'm just happy to get a damn good '97/'98 DDP. They did it right by doing his tight jeans tucked into the boots. I was so worried they'd do the Bulldog ones that are baggy, but nope! Great job, guys.
Big Bossman AE is one I skipped last time around, so I'm happy to see it again. Fans of the Bossman are eatin' good this year!
Stone Cold in black shorts with that shirt (from his arrest after stunning McMahon in '97) was another want of mine for awhile. I don't love the boxy execution on the shirt, I gotta admit; reminds me of that Bad Bonz BCA 3-pack. It looks good otherwise though. I wonder if he comes with cuffs? Other side note: I am so glad they made a few great Austin scans in recent years.
nWo Curt Hennig! The nWo shirt without the wording is a fun variant of the usual one. Not sure what his singlet looks like...it's probably not the new mold they need to make, but the shirt hides it so I don't care as much. I am going to slap UE Goldberg's WCW US title on this figure to make it look perfect. Adding the West Texas Rednecks gear with him is funny as hell. I would rather have DDP's shirt, but I get why they want to take this opportunity to do that. If you haven't watched their "Good Ole' Boys" music video (which is different than "Rap Is Crap"), go and watch it! It's funny and actually has a nice chorus.
Overall, nice set! Commissioner HBK is cool, I'm glad it's at least different from the impossible to find one.

It would be nice if I could find these at a local store, but I know I wonβt. The DDP in light jeans and the Hennig are must haves though.

Mattel, please don't put straight up re-releases (i.e. Bossman) into a BAF set. That's gross.

I said to a mate 2 weeks ago I can't believe Mattel haven't made an Austin based on his first stunner to Vince and here we are.

Great set, but I think it totally supports what many on this board have been saying - that Mattel doesn't have the names to support this line - that they're already repeating Austin in the 4th wave.
DDP and NWO Hennig are complete "Yes" for me! Maybe even Both DDP's if I'm able to find them!
I was not a fan of this version of Boss Man so probably not.... and I just don't know if I need this Austin. He looks great, I just have a lot of Austins in my collection.

Iβm not sure why they gave Curt an nWo shirt with the early logo. I doubt he ever wore it, since he joined later on. Iβll have to get two, to represent both nWo and West Texas Rednecks. I wonder if Bossman will come with the mask like the earlier Elite. I also wonder if the rib tape on the darker jeans DDP will be black. And will it come with a shirt or vest? If not, then it should have been saved for a line where that could have been included. Also, Commissioner Michaels should have stubble (and the Coliseum Steamboat shouldnβt).

Nice figures overall, especially the DDP figures. A lot of folks have been waiting years and years for those...But all I can think about is how you'll never see them in Walmart stores and it just kills all the hype and anticipation I might have felt π€·

Other than not having Sting who was WCW they have names. The MNW should be NWO (Hogan, Hall, Nash), Austin, Triple H, HBK & Rock heavy. You need to think about it like a Superhero line. If itβs a Batman or Spider-Man line they going to be in every set. And those are you Batman/Spider-Man when it comes to a MNW line. Those guys are going to sell way better than say a Disco Inferno (who I want) the bigger issue is putting a rerelease like Bossman in one of the other three allotted spots in the wave.

I think that it also gives us the availability of other attires we want from the guys that we have already signed too without them taking slots or having to be inserted in a line where theyβd have to be flashbacks. With DDP for example we could also get a Halloween Havoc β98 attire, β99 attire with shirt ponytail, with Booker we still need his β98 black tights and flames look, white tights could be a variant or vice versa. Thereβs so many looks good cover from this period and maybe itβll give Mattel time to get some guys that could be signed. I hope we get a Muta, Kidman, Liger and a few others somewhere down the line.

The MNW line is the perfect reason for Mattel to push WWE to approach more deep dive WCW names, plus we know they've got new contract types aimed specifically at merchandise for the non-A-listers. Hopefully given time more new names and deep dive will trickle through.

I hope dark jeans DDP is the chase because I really prefer the light jeans look.

I hope they fix the logo on Stone Coldβs shirt; it doesnβt look Mattel quality.
It feels like a Toybiz/Jazwares rush job or some lazy customizer who found the worst jpeg off Google & didnβt want to cut out the iron-on.
(Oh man, it would have been fun to package this Austin with handcuffs behind his back being hauled off to jail)
If DDP doesnβt come with the blue Diamond Cutter shirt, what are we doing here?
The next AE Bossman needs an open collar and a buzz cut paint job on the hair.
WT Rednecks Curt Hennig hits the spot. (Give him a tan, Mattel!)

Would be nice if Boss Man came with Pepper Steak or something to differentiate him from the prior, but I think that was a SmackDown segment.
I kind of agree that this line doesn't really seem to have enough names to get it kicking. The BAF concept was originally conceived to get customers to buy lesser known characters that they may not have otherwise. It is concerning getting two street-clothes Austins already.
