I imagine, if they run Rock/Roman next year that heel champion Rock is likely. So Cody vs Rock at Summerslam or even Survivor Series could make sense.

They tried to do Roman/Rock. The fans rejected it. And based off the reaction Sunday night, it was clearly the right call. Now, Rock and Cody are the hot hand. I’m sorry this eats you up so bad.

Acting like we aren’t getting Rock/Roman at a WrestleMania in the near future… is a strange move.

Wouldn’t shock me if Cody isn’t still champion this time next year. Time will tell.

Fans didn’t necessarily reject Rock and Roman all together. They rejected it happening at this year’s Wrestlemania, at the expense of Cody, after it was all but confirmed that he would be facing Roman. It’s still a massive match that’ll probably happen down the line. Same with Rock and Cody, which I hope happens first.

Have to say, I was quite surprised at the reaction The Rock received on Raw. It felt like genuine go away heat, rather than fun heel heat. Appreciate it’s the Raw after Mania crowd, but Cody had his moment and finished his story, I thought Rock deserved his flowers - but that was strange.

Interesting to see where they go with this. My feeling is Cody Rhodes vs The Rock at either Saudi or Summerslam, but it’s a tricky one for them to book. Cody can’t beat The Rock clean, and if Rock wins the Title with a view to have Roman win the Rumble down the line and set up Rock vs Reigns for the Title, the fans will just reject it once again as it would once again be Rock just coming in and putting Cody to the back. Best bet would be to have Roman return and cost Rock the Match, though with Cody being face, this would probably end up babyfacing Roman in the process, and I feel the two of them should have a longer build to their eventual Match (rather than Roman straight up costing Rock out of the blue).

One thing I will say however, is holding Cody Rhodes vs The Rock out for Wrestlemania 41 would be the wrong move in all of this. They’ve already more or less just done the build between them two for this years Wrestlemania. Cody finished his story, which was the main reason everyone rejected Rock vs Roman in the first place, as it came at his expense. The end goal should really be seeing Rock and Roman finally collide, while Cody is off doing WWE Championship business outside of the picture.
