Mattel gets out a quality product at a more than fair price.
While other figure lines are getting more and more expensive, the WWE basics line gets more detailed and the figures are only $11

For any of the faults that the line may have had, I genuinely believe that they’ve done a good job and try their best to constantly keep things fresh despite already clearly being the top dog in town when it comes to wrestling figures. Steve and Bill do what they can when it comes to answering the fans’ questions given how they’re restricted at times with what they can reveal. The line has changed a lot since year 1 and in a good way, we take it for granted now but before FX Real Scans became the standard, head scans were seriously hit and miss. The removable hands and heads were a massive improvement for the Elite figures, pinless double jointed elbows also ended up being a much bigger deal to me than I initially thought they would be. Legends are being released way more often than during the 2011-2017 time period and that’s always a plus in my book, and for the most part the clunky plastic clothing have been replaced by the much more popular soft goods, just as the collectors have always wanted. While overall costs and distribution are still issues at time that’s just part of the game I suppose and by and large I’m thankful that Mattel has managed to not only keep the WWE license for so long but also sought to continue to innovating rather than just resting on their laurels. Theres always improvements that could be made (the right parts being used more often for instance) but all things considered Mattel has done a great job with the line and the design team deserves to be recognized for their hard work.
