Up until about two months ago, I was a completionist of the Ultimate Edition line. However, between the black carded Coliseum Collections, the MNW Walmart exclusives, repaints, and the tiny KO, I find myself not wanting to shell out nearly $35 per figure anymore. Am I alone on this? This isn't me complaining about not being able to easily obtain the MNW Ultimates or anything like that. I truly do not like the Bret and just don't want to spend the money on it. If the heads were better, I probably would have paid scalper prices for it by now, but I just don't find it worth it. I have a real problem with making up my own rules for my collection and I think I am making a rule that I have completed the line up to and including the first 20 sets. I think that's it though. I just don't need the same Batista in blue, or a Piper with a giraffe neck. Thoughts?

I've stopped, as I've sold Logan Paul, Eric bischoff, no holds barred, among other few things, space and money

Nah I got out of the game. Variants, exclusives and rereleases weren’t the really though. Just got tired of buying all the Hogans and Warriors. Which oddly slowed down after I sold my collection. Haha

I was out when Bill forced Shinsuke into another premium line IN THE SECOND SERIES! Set was so bad I never saw series 3 or 4 at retail. 5 made a brief appearance and 6 was online only.

After not being fast enough to preorder SDCC Sgt Slaughter, I quit being a completionist.

I will never be a completionist.
To each their own, but I will never understand how people purchase wrestlers that they don't like and or care for. Masochist type behavior.

I never really liked them because of the toe articulation, but I especially don’t like them since the drop down hips. I flat out hate drop down hips.

no, it is not ideal to collect a "premium product" that is firstly out of scale after everything we fought for.
we as collectors must have self respect!
Elite will always be better. More range, more accuracy, more affordable.

No, given up since they started putting in chases/variants.

I stopped being an UE completist when Ronda Rousey was released as I passed on her. But with the exception of Series 5 and Series 12 I have purchased at least 1 UE in every assortment released so far.

Not bothering with blue and black cards or chases. Ultys being tied to rings we were never gonna be forced to buy multiples of. Exclusives at terrible distributors. Logan Paul.
A fool's dream to be a completionist. Flew too high on plastic wings.

Even as a subline Ultimate completionist for the Coliseum Collection, MOC, I’m going with the “I get what I get and I don’t get upset” philosophy regarding blue or black cards. I don’t need both to call my collection “complete.”

I bought a Roman Reigns UE about year ago and quickly realized that the line isn't for me. Not when the Elite line has been getting better and better and the updated articulation the Basics.
My kids now use that Roman Reigns when they play with their figures and quite honestly they prefer the Basic one. All that articulation is ideal for posing and displaying but not for little hands using the figures to drive forklifts and break tables.

I will never be a completionist. To each their own, but I will never understand how people purchase wrestlers that they don't like and or care for. Masochist type behavior. That’s an interesting topic to talk about. I never considered buying ever wrestler as being a completionist. I look at having to get every figure in a particular line as being a completionist. I buy at least one figure of every wrestler to “complete” the roster but I never thought of not buying them just because I don’t like them. For example, I’m not a huge Baron Corbin fan, but he’s still part of the roster. I never even thought I was being a completionist there. What I have some OCD with is having to complete a line. It’s either all or nothing to me. I collect both loose and MOC. If I am going to open it, then I don’t need the full line, but if I am keeping it MOC, then I need the entire wave. Weird, yes. But everyone has their own rules lol. But still interesting that I never thought of buying one of every guy as being a completionist.

More range, more accuracy, more affordable. I agree completely. I think Elites are perfect and we really never needed Ultimates. I wish I never started the UE collection. I don’t really like the body look on them and, like you said, their scale is way off. I bought the UE Eddie when I was still 100% going for completion, but that was the first time that I started questioning this line. Then it became 3 per wave and all 3 are current roster guys where I would much prefer their elites than their ultimates. I have plenty of Sami and KO elites. I don’t need the ultimates (and poor ones at that).

I stopped when they announced Walmart were getting exclusive Ultimate lines - given how difficult it is for US customers to get them in stores then there was basically no chance for anyone outside the US at anything remotely resembling a sensible price, so it was time for me to tap-out.
Had they arranged international distribution for the Walmart lines (and I'm sure they tried) or if they'd got them onto Mattel Creations for international customers (we've asked for this for a while so they must've had that conversation before) then I would've continued.
As it is now I think the last one I bought was the Andre series.

For anyone that has a complete collection (or near it) - How are you choosing to display it? Or is it being stored?
