Mine is due Tuesday out on the West Coast, I'd imagine it'll get pushed back to Wednesday or Thursday but who knows.

That’s unfortunate if Mattel feels that they needed Ali to ok this set. Just shows you they are hesitant on anything pre 80s. I guess Powertown will have to pick up the slack for us. Just too bad they are so slow getting figures out. Its obviously a tough sell. Wrestling did not hit mainstream until the mid 80s. Those who grew up watching prior to that era are at least in their mid to late 50s and probably not collecting action figures. Plus Graham was released prior and didn’t really sell well, Bruno also warmed for a bit, even the younger Hogan figures they produced recently aren’t flying off the shelves the same as his more iconic looks. Hello! I still collect!😁 But seriously the E78 Graham was always the first to go from that set in my area. And Bruno moved as well as the Shield did in E25. So I don’t think it’s that they aren’t as know to today’s collectors. And as far as Ali goes his Legends figure is moving faster than the Sultan and surprisingly Captain Lou who I feel is the star of the set here. As for his SDCC figure. It could have been produced in the same numbers as the past Exclusives and still been overproduced. Because there’s no real promoting of the SDCC figures. So if you aren’t a wrestling figure collector or attending SDCC you probably have no clue about it. And that’s why a year later it’s still up for sale on Mattel Creations. So they are missing out on sale from boxing fans and casual fans that don’t know about it. At least with L22 if you are a boxing fan or casual fan and were walking through the store there’s at least a chance you would see the side cap display and purchased one. Personally I feel at the very least maybe Mattel should have an ad on Instagram promoting it? I don’t know how many ads I see daily on Instagram for things I wouldn’t normally be interested in. Oh and I woke up to my shipping notice as well. It’s scheduled for tomorrow according to FedEx. |

Why are you being a troll? My bad, Professor. Learning stuff is important, and I felt the observation was important to mention since there is a disconnect between modern people in general and their history. I wasn’t trolling or acting like I had written the damned history, I’m just echoing it cause people missed out. Especially when lots of people in the hobby are regular folks who don’t have time to study a ton. I work in education so I consider it a privilege to add informative stuff wherever I can cause it enriches our lives. |
