Overall, I liked it. Main event was best match of the card. Great match.
The Saudis tried but they need more practice on learning song lyrics.

Rocky's match ratings that no one asked for: Pre-show Tag Match - 2/5 Becky v Liv - 3/5 IC threeway - 1.5/5 Nia v Lyra - 3/5 (1 point for the insane finish, 1 point for the Lyra being on full display in that outfit. I know we are in the desert but that is an absurd amount of camel.) Orton v Gunther - 1/5 Logan v Cody - 5/5 Overall, it was watchable but this felt like a very weak show until that insane main event. The main event really saved the show for me. Hoping for something better in Scotland! Thanks kevstaa. 5 stars for everybody!!! Wooeeehhwoooohhh marks. What are you yapping about?

Cool to see Liv finally win the big one in a proper match. The timing was off in places, not sure if it was Becky moving too fast or Liv too slow but it was noticeable.
I was hesitant about Bronson being added to an already active Sami and Gable feud but it worked. Pretty fun match. Bronson's moonsault was super impressive. Didn't like how Otis accidentally hit Gable though. When he stands up for himself and fights back, I feel it won't be as big of a moment because we've already seen it. Same as when Roman got pinned by Jey in a tag match. When he got pinned by Cody in a singles match, it didn't feel as big as it should have.

Damn good show. The main event was absolutely awesome. They did a fantastic job building that from scratch in a few weeks, and they delivered on the night. Very impressed and entertained.
Nia Jax countering the powerbomb attempt with a banzai drop to a standing opponent was outstanding. That match told a good story too.
Orton and Gunther was really good, I wasn’t a big fan of the ending though. And by contrast, I loved the endings of the women’s world title and the IC title matches. Both of them have me looking forward to Raw to see the next developments.

The first WWE show that I've watched this year, and I was incredibly unwhelmed.
The good:
Gunther is probably the best pure professional wrestler in the world. My god the guy is a joy to watch, so much detail and thought put into everything he does. He managed to make a Randy Orton match entertaining to me, impressive. Loved the finish, even though it didn't look perfect, it was a simple wrestling counter. Lou Thesz could have enjoyed that one.
Logan is a damn solid athlete, but you can tell his matches are rehearsed for hours, nothing feels spontaneous, and I'm not sure the guy know's a wrist lock from a wrist watch in terms of actual holds. Cody carried him to a perfectly fine little match, like he can do with anybody.
The triple threat was mediocre, but not exactly bad. It was easy enough to watch.
The bad
Nothing else even registered with me. I don't even care to recount the rest of the card.
WWE fans will swear up in down that AEW is just awful, but I couldn't imagine watching an AEW PPV and only getting on above average match. That would be shocking, as even PPVs with terrible build end delivering enough great wrestling that I forgive TK.
Truth be told I feel like WWE's booking and presentation is much more focused and coherent than AEW's, as Triple H is an excellent booker imo. The problem is that I find the in ring product to be incredibly underwhelming. The less is more approach just isn't for me.

As much as I want to hate Nia Jax, I can't deny that she's actually putting on some damn good matches since she's been back. Lyra has all the qualities to be a star, fantastic presentation. That finish was brutal too. Randy Orton working a Gunther match rather than the opposite says a lot about how Randy's matured over the years. It just irks me how quick Logan Paul has ing gotten it. His stuff might be rehearsed or planned to the minute details, but plenty of legends (DDP and Savage, for example) in the industry have done the same thing.

The matches are exciting but have 0 in ring psychology or drama. The drama their matches have is “how many finishers does it take to put this guy away”. Different strokes for different folks but I like matches that have engaging stories behind them and selling during the matches. I do enjoy watching matches that have exciting spots but a whole company geared toward putting on those style matches gets tiresome

I do enjoy watching matches that have exciting spots but a whole company geared toward putting on those style matches gets tiresome I am always confused by the idea of stories and psychology not being present in AEW. Like my idea of psychology and storytelling is what Gunther and Orton did with the knee, that was incredibly engaging over the course of the match, and played into the finish beautifully. That's storytelling to me. Every Bret Hart match ever had that. AEW has plenty of that type of work, and plenty of matches tie into previous ones. There's a lot to sink your teeth into as far as what happens in the ring. AEW just lacks build-up and character based drama more often than not. It's a wrestling show for the sake of wrestling. WWE definitely does the conflict and character motivations much better for sure, I can't debate that in good faith. Also just a better booked show. AEW is so damn disjointed and erratic. Hard to watch an AEW show and not notice the lack of vision.

Nia winning QOTR was good stuff, well deserved. I wouldn't mind her winning the Title soon.

Logan will be the WWE champ at some point...he's just too good all around not to be. Just a matter of when.
Fun PLE, but Gunther vs Orton was a snoozer considering the talent those 2 have.
