More current talent means less spending for me so I'm not necessarily mad at it. Especially with three per set in the mainline now

Making so many Hogans and Warriors instead of giving us new versions of current and legend talents was the problem. The main line should be current, with a mix or men and women currently on the roster. The Legends and CC series should focus on legend talent. This! If feels like the same 5 legends are in every line now and we are so far behind on getting a lot of current talent. I’m not sure why Legends can’t be limited to the legends series since that’s the whole purpose of that line.

I disagree. Mainline ultimates should increase to 4 per series. 3 current 1 legend. Like what elite line had for a while. Never understood the "it's not special no more cause theres more" argument. That's the point, get more out there. Well keep in mind that I think the Ultimates are packed 4 per case.... so if you are raising it up to 4 different figures, each will only be packed 1 per case. Which I suspect will translate to 1 of each figure-per-store in a lot of series. These things are hard enough to find already, I think the only reason Ultimates haven't been THAT hard to find on the shelves is due to the higher price point AND they usually pack 2-per-case of the anticipated "hot seller" - but in the event they put a real hot figure in there, each store will then get only one, for the most part.... I mean there's good and bad to everything, but I feel both crowds can be satisfied this way. Case packs can always get bigger, 4 ultimates to a case isn't a permanent thing I don't believe.

Speaking of UE’s the Amazon Survivor Series set is now down to $56 and there’s also listings on Amazon for just the Gooker for $31. If you just want the Undertaker it’s better to buy the set because by himself he’s $45 so for $10 more you can get the Gobbledy Gooker and the egg to. Just saying for those who have been holding off.

Ultimates definitely felt like a "special" collection at one point, but now they're just making everyone on the roster, and multiples of everyone. It's definitely watering down the appeal for a $35 figure that comes with almost the same amount of stuff as an elite Extra heads and hands are NOT a huge selling point for me personally...you can only use one head or pair of hands at a time Look at the recent set, Series 21...Gunther comes with the same see-thru soft goods coat as his last Elite so you're essentially paying $10 for an IC belt and 2 heads. Jey Uso? even worse, you're paying $10 for 2 heads and the samoan lei and cena you're paying $10 for 2 heads and that little towel accessory forget the different body type, those molds are created and paid for already Ultimates cannot possibly cost that much more than an elite when they are re-using so many parts. When the line was first introduced it seemed like they were going to be able to just make truly PREMIUM versions of legends, etc. Like the Ric Flair, you know that figure would never fit in the budget for a regular elite wave. Now they're just more expensive figures with a few extra goodies that 90% of us either sell or put away in a ziploc I love Ultimates though, the presentation and look of them are very nice. But they absolutely do not feel "special" anymore Love this reply. I only pick up select ultimates. Usually its based on attire they're wearing So many have poor parts choices too

Kyle Peterson looks like a regular sized Hornswoggle which is why I refuse to watch any of his reviews
Way to attack someone for their appearance. Shame on you -- hope the moderators kick you out, and personally, I also hope you're ugly as hell. Looks aren't something we can change, they're something we're born with, and even for a wrestling figure forum, your comment is revolting. Not siding with him but we’ve had the same men commenting on how womens wrestlers look on this site since it began.

I’m very much a select cherry picker these days anyway so more releases doesn’t bother me. To me, it just makes it more likely they’ll release an Ultimate of a wrestler in an attire I really want to add to the collection. I’m a fan of how it’s going.

I have stopped buying many Elites unless I plan to convert them into Ultimates.
I would very much like to see Elites replace basics and UE take over as the main line.

I never thought they were that great to begin with. Just higher priced Elites with hideous torsos. Defining Moments figures usually warranted that higher price because of the detail and extra accessories we got on those figures. Ultimates however do not. They are just figures that we'd see in the Elite line with an extra head or hands, which is what is happening with the Elite figures anyway so all you're paying extra for now is a different torso. It wouldn't surprise me if they start reducing the accessories Elites come with so people go for Ultimates instead.

"I Agree with Kyle Peterson" sounds like the worst bumper sticker ever Well yeah because almost no one will know who that is and will probably assume it’s some middle age dude with a podcast where he makes edgy political takes.

I agree with the original point in theory, but at the same time:
1. This was inevitable. After a slow start, Ultimates became super hot. It's only natural to make more and a wider variety of characters when they're selling. I always thought Ultimates were basically going to be the next evolution of the Elite line; the Mattel line is 15 years old and figure technology has come a long way over that time.
2. As hardcore collectors, we've got to stop complaining about not getting OBSCURE LEGEND #243 as much as I personally (and others) want them. There are a ton of fans of the current product and they deserve to get their favorites in Ultimate form too. I say this as someone who only collects legends with the Mattel line but it is so annoying/off-putting/almost arrogant when people come on here and are like, WHY DID WE GET BIANCA BELAIR AS AN ULTIMATE INSTEAD OF DUKE THE DUMPSTER DROESE??
(Also it's literally only been the past two series that don't have a legend in it. Unless I missed something, I don't think there's some new rule about not including legends talent in the main Ultimates line)
