slowed down to just stuff that fits my pic fed. which i barely do anyway. right now , i have focused on attitude stuff though. My legends have taken a back seat since the nostalgia wore off. plus the lack of new characters always slows me down. i quit buying doubles period.

I was late to the Mattel game. Swore off collecting when jakks lost the license, jumped back in around 2017. I get mainly legends but will pick guys up that I think would have fit in the 80's or 90's eras for my Pic Fed. Went crazy on ebay catching up with a lot of figures I initially missed....now I'm watching them all be rereleased lol.

45. Started collecting just golden era and have added new Gen and attitude and wcw and even a bit ecw. Have kept to those parameters but they keep adding ones I like including retros and superstars. Still see enough legends in those time periods to keep things interesting with no end in sight.

I'm 37 now and I've been collecting since late 96'. I def had many completionist type years but at this point I'm a super minimalist cherry picker. With wrestling figs, I usually purchase between 4-9 per year last several years. Still love keeping up on the news and seeing all the reveals, but I only have room to own so much.

I recently turned 50, and I have gone through two stages of collecting. First started with WWF LJN figs. That lasted until middle school ended. My second phase was collecting/buying with my two sons, but since they have entered high school, I only buy Hogan, Undertaker, and pre-1991 legends, with a possible CM Punk or Cody Rhodes in the mix. I love the Big Rubber Guys line, but I have stuck to just Mattel.

I'm 29. Bought about 3 figures this year. My peak was probably elite 10-25 when I'd buy full elite sets. Don't have enthusiasm I once had.

I'm 81 and collecting just as fast as I'm selling off. I get some new talent but not very many. Legends are where it's at for me (Golden Era, New Gen, Attitude Era). Selling a lot of my collection has become just as addicting as buying. I don't look at any of this as an investment, so buying and selling is just natural to me. I'll buy every Bret, Warrior, Savage and sometimes Hogan. I'm a Bret mark, so I love his figs.
Oh, whoops.
Not 81, I'm 41. Just wanted to see how many people I could shock right off the bat.

I'm still going strong. I have been collecting legends and modern talent, but at times I have thought about cutting back to just figures of talent and versions from 2000's and earlier only.

I've been collecting wrestling figures since LJN's. I still go by my one rule, & that is to collect one of each wrestler (some exceptions). That includes Legends, AEW & most smaller companies offerings (Powertown, Epic, etc). I did get out of the retro game (I sold off my Hasbros & Jakks Deluxe Aggression figures last year). I'm now primarily sticking to 6-7 articulated scale & Big Rubber Guys now. Money is an issue unfortunately.

38 and only buying Legends that I don't have or the odd current roster talent (which is becoming harder and harder to justify purchasing).
I have about 45 elites currently listed on marketplace in my city and have sold about 10 so far.

In the over 60s group. I write more than 20 characters because i still can. Someday that mighht be illegal too. Not many of us left that witnessed the first wrestlemania. When it comes to the wwe i collect what i like but mainly just collecting mattel creations figures now. Done with the roadshow. Just buying straight from mattel at this point. As long as the legends series continue it gives me reason to buy them but retail has become extremely boring. Based on what i see the young guns are running the show now. Hopefully a few more old timers get made like jesse ventura so i can call it quits. Have most of the figures i want but will replace a better headsculpt when possible. I prefer jakks still as their legs are not skinnier than the arms but there is always room for improvement. The headsculpts on mattel arecdef better but the scaling issues are hard to chew on.(like yokozunas arm) Mattel is not slowing down and probably peaking right about now. I don't believe any of us will peak until after we get every figure we wanted. At some point mattel and the wwe will collaborate together to create costumes to sell as action figures. We gotta be careful this line doesn't go the barbie route and hope the dozens of looks some wrestlers had doesnt become a gimmick for every new age wrestler. I can already imagine the miz with 500 different looks by the time he retires. So let's not clamor for every single outfit these new wrestlers wear. As they say be careful what you wish for. In other words if we all want our collection to be complete lets focus on getting our want lists completed before we ask for the 50th look of our favorites... I have peaked my collection and thank god. Prices are still rising. Luckily i bought most of my collection when figures were still less than 10$. But done? A true collector is never done...

I’m 39. I’d like to say I’ve hit my peak, but then I’ll see stuff like a Muta Ultimate announcement, or the Monday Night Wars Eddie and get really exited to get these. I started out just buying AEW. I avoided Mattel/WWE because I knew once I started it wouldn’t stop. But when Super 7 announced NJPW figures I figured “well, I need a Nakamura and Devitt to fill out the shelf a bit.” Then I saw that Ultimate NWO Hogan and it was over. I fell into the trap. Ultimates, elites, retros, Superstars. If it was a guy or girl that I cared about from (roughly) 87-05, I probably wanted it. All the while still keeping up with a lot of what Jazwares was putting out for AEW. I’ve done my best to try and keep to certain rules and only cherry pick lines for my favorites, but I quickly ran out of room for everything. So the plan is to trim it all down and get rid of a lot of redundant figures I’ve bought over the past few years.
So interesting -- what made you want to start collecting figures in your mid 30s...

jasont -- great question. I'm early 40s. Realized I love looking at figures, but I want practically nothing in my apartment. I've sold everything besides Retros and older Hasbros, and 5-6 carded figures. I've recently become a lot more selective about the Retros , and am getting rid of those I don't want, in addition to selling Hasbros that don't bring me joy. I don't want to own anything else -- can just look at the photos online. It was hard to get rid of the Batman Animated and Star Wars stuff from when I was a kid, but ultimately I also want to move on from my childhood also and it does make me feel more adult to have very few figures around.

Oh I only started wrestling figures in my 30’s. I’ve been collecting toys for years. NECA, Toybiz Marvel Legends, DC Direct just to name a few. |

37 been collecting for ever and over the years sold of a lot of collections like bca, toybiz, tna and classic superstars. I'm now in the process of selling off the majority of my elite collection and solely collecting Ultimate Edition. This makes it easier for me to keep up and have definitive looks of guys instead of 15 elites of the same guy. They have there issues like drop down hips and the big torso but swapping parts isn't to difficult and visually they look better. Randy Savage has never looked like the elite torso they put on him where as the ultimate torso is perfect. UEs going forward and convert select elites into UEs. May even rebuild a jakks bca collection as that is the only line I regret selling, I had everyone!
