Would it kill them for one damn Penta figure to come with a full pair of gloves? The first Pentagon Jr and the Supreme do don’t they?

If these are where the unmatched 10 protos are right now, i assume we won’t get them for awhile lol Does anyone know when the first digital renders of this Brandon Cutler set were shown? Has to be over a year ago...and just now we have physical UNPAINTED protos. I am not an action figure manufacturer, but I've been collecting and following figures for 20 years. This is not typical and quite hilarious. The Elite wave was announced September of 2022 and the render was shown May of 2023. Was Jazwares literally doing nothing for a year while product warmed? No clue how these are all unpainted protos. They should have just scrapped things and at least attempted to keep up with the current product.

It’s the main reason for the backlog. To their credit doing the ppv line to move some dated attires and freeing up spots in the mainline to plug in Copeland and Switchblade seems to have helped a little.

This is just a random thought I had but they should use ShopAEW as the place to get LJN style figures. Make them 1 of 3000 or something and they’d be fine. I really like the LJN style figures and don’t want them to go away but there’s only been 4 figures so far and 3 of them are if people that aren’t in AEW anymore

Confirmed. Jazwares parent company was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway (owned by Warren Buffet). While this was going on Jazwares seemed to just stop production. I recall Jeremy Padawer talking about it but I’m not about to deep dive into his tweets at 5am. We’ve talked about it a bit on this board back then too.

I hope this is the unmatched 11 black attire with gold on for Jay white
I would be disappointed if it’s this attire cause he has wore the black attire with the gold on more than his debut match attire.
Looks like this is meant to be this attire for Darby Allin what was shown

Jazwares was acquired by Berkshire. And while it absolutely may have had some disruption on day to day operations, it's not like the whole company would have just sat still for 6 months. That's not how corporate mergers work, and when it comes to absorbing companies Berkshire is about as smooth and seasoned as they come.

I recall Jeremy Padawer talking about it but I’m not about to deep dive into his tweets at 5am. We’ve talked about it a bit on this board back then too. The Jazwares acquisition was finalized in Dec 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, they reported $847M in revenue, so they were definitely selling something. There were likely some production changes - Fortnite figures also saw a lag, and it would make sense if Berkshire streamlined manufacturing to plants they already own or work with. But regardless, the reality was that retailers weren't buying, whether Jazwares was producing product or not. We had seen multiple waves (at that time) end up essentially being RSC exclusives and pegs were backed up with multiple warmers. The situation didn't change until Jazwares did a multi-million dollar product buyback in late 2023. Either way, Jazwares has now had a year a half to pivot and they haven't. Time will tell if that's a meaningful choice or not. But at best it means that we're going to continue seeing outdated product hitting shelves for the foreseeable future.

Best things shown are the new Hardy’s, Copeland prototype, and that new Brody King.
Hoping we still get Matt. Looks like one of the best Matt Hardy’s to date

I’m not a big Hardys fan but they look spot on. I’ll have to get them. Matt isn’t cancelled; he’s just no longer with the company so they’re not showing it in advertising similar to Ethan Page.
Really don’t care about the next Elite figures at this point. That Omega is from his match with Danielson. From September 2021. While it’s a cool look I’d rather they try to catch up now.
I’ll pass on Cole figures until we get his Halo gear.
Jarret looks great! Way overdue for a new JJ.
Cope looks good although maybe a little skinny. The they’ve had great scans with horrible deco so who knows how it’ll turn out
Not sure if O’Riley looks like him or not yet.
Daniel Garcia might have the best headscan in the line in a long time! Hope we get an updated one someday
Joe’s face looks off, I think it looks like he has lipstick or something. I hope it’s fixed so I can have a bearded Joe
Hangman is beyond overdue, but man that headscan..
Brody is definitely a get
I’m good on Lucha Bros figs for now. Don’t care for that look either.
I’m not sure why Warlow is getting so many figures. Easy pass.

So Abadon gets shelved but Brandon Cutler is still on the way? Unmatched 10 feels like a disaster wave. More pegwarming Bucks, but Jarrett gets stuck as an online exclusive? And I have no idea if he'd sell better, but they literally just put out some WM exclusive Bucks so sticking close to the original lineup of that wave feels so weird. (It looks like the LJN Britt got dropped? I don't think anyone's going to be too hurt by that, but it would've been nice to get someone like Willow in that mix.)

Time will tell if that's a meaningful choice or not. But at best it means that we're going to continue seeing outdated product hitting shelves for the foreseeable future. Just going back to some old threads to refresh my memory. Yes the merger happened in Dec of 22. Prior to its announcement we got the 3 commentators, B&G Thunder Rosa and I believe the Supreme Kenny & Malachai Black. We were already questioning what was going on before the announcement. New AEW product doesn't hit store shelves until roughly August of 2023 (I know because I was the one who made the thread about it when people were finding Unmatched 6 & Unrivaled 12 in Walmarts). I'm generous when I say 6 months tbh. It was probably closer to 10. I don't think you can chalk up nearly a year gap between retail releases because of peg warmers. At that point in time most toy lines were just sitting on the pegs. That buyout probably caused some shake up at Jazwares. Maybe some redundancies got let go, maybe they had to move factories. I don't know but it definitely had an effect on their output. And even though RSC was getting product, it wasn't showing up the 2-3 months ahead of retail as it used to. It was just weeks. I tried digging through Padawer's Twitter to try and get some more clarity on the subject but the guy tweets A LOT about crypto, Elon Musk, and responding "toyetic" to a lot of things. But I do recall either Padawer or someone who would have heard it from the man like the Major Pod guys mentioning that they had to halt some lines just to get things in order under Buffet's umbrella. Maybe that's where I got the 6 months number from. Not sure. It was 2 years ago. Apologies if I'm kind of all over the place

I agree losing Abadon sucked, but I've been waiting on a Brandon Cutler for a good while now (I miss the days when BTE was good and a must watch). I'm not sure what this wave is just yet but if its Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole in his pink Owen Hart gear, Kyle O'Riley & Brandon Cutler I don't think that's a weak wave in the slightest. Cutler would be the chase and that would leave KOR or Cole for the rare (my gut says Cole in baby blue or yellow). I actually really like the lampshade Bucks, but that's me. I get not everyone wants Bucks in permanent entrance attire. I don't think they'll be hanging around the way Kingston and Hangman were, but then again those two sold fairly well in the stores around me. Also I'm down for any Willow figures, and I hope we get one by next year.

What happened to that Blade Runners Sting? Great question but as usual, Jazwares doesn’t really communicate with fans.
