I was thinking about this while looking at my collection. If you were to get only one figure of a wrestler would you prefer a one off attire or an attire worn constantly on tv/ppv. The one off probably would be super detailed however it would look off imo without the matching opponent

Good question. Depends on the wrestler. Most wrestlers I would want something they have worn a lot rather than a one off. Trish Stratus for example I'd want something she is seen in a lot like her e88 (non chase), it feels more like her to me than a one-off attire.
Rey Mysterio I'd be happy with a one-off attire. Seth Rolins' one-offs look great too and I don't really associate him with one particular attire.

In most cases- one off attire.

I generally like the figures I buy to represent a particular match or moment that I enjoyed....
So I'm a fan of the "one-off" if they celebrate one of those great memories.
What I'm not a fan of is the Mattel "Mash-Up" where they seemingly combine two looks that the wrestler never particularly wore together? I'm having trouble thinking of specific examples but I know Mattel has done this.... The original Ric Flair Defining Moments was one. He didn't typically wear the black "Butterfly Robe" with the blue trunks. I know there are other examples of this....

Hard to say for guys like Warrior, Savage, etc cuz most of their attires are one-offs. So for them you probably want whatever attire most captures what you picture when you think of em.

Depends on the Wrestler and attires. With Sting if we were only getting one figure then The GAB ‘90 would be the attire I wanted most as it’s my all time favorite wrestling attire. If not then I would want either the BeachBlast ‘92 all pink attire or the all neon green (which both he wore more often than a one off.) Hard to say for guys like Warrior, Savage, etc cuz most of their attires are one-offs. So for them you probably want whatever attire most captures what you picture when you think of em. For Savage it would be the light purple/lavender trunks for me. That’s the attire I remember him in the most.

Good question. I would prefer recurring attires because it covers more events and a bigger time frame, and it's more to the original classic look. Much like getting the Classic He Man look as opposed to getting Battle Armour He Man or Thunder Punch He Man.
Saying that - im sure most people associate Ultimate Warrior with green trunks, he wore it on the Nintendo game, it was his first Hasbro and it's what he wore on the iconic poster, but Mattel still haven't done him in green yet and we have been asking for that for years.

Combination of both.
Guys who wore the same thing for years I like to have that represented. So someone like Jim Duggan for example if I could only have his blue trunks elite or the demolition face paint I’m going the standard.
Guys who change a lot I’d take the most iconic so for example mania 7 macho and warrior.

I generally collect and display just one of each Legend for my collection. So I prefer a more iconic recurring look, overall. But, I’m a sucker for the LJN line, so when the look matches (or gets close to matching) that figure, I’m all in even when it’s not the most iconic look- like the Coliseum Collection Hogan, Funk or, perhaps, Rude.

One offs because the attires are usually better and pop more on the shelf

Like every ‘96-‘97 Face champion era Shawn? always one off attires unless it’s a basic…

I’m going with the reoccurring attires. I like the ones that best represent what I remember from my time watching. That doesn’t always align with the majority but usually it does

For me, it depends on the wrestler. For example, when I think of Seth Rollins I imagine his Wrestlemania MITB Cash-In attire. He wore that for the entirety of his initial WWE Title reign (barring the 2 times he wore his white version of that gear). But for someone like an Apollo Crews or Charlotte or someone who has multiple different attires, just with little changes like Kevin Owens or Aleister/Malakai Black, it wouldn't really matter what attire to me.
