It’s Mattel. As soon as the black cards start selling for $100+ on the secondary market they will just make more and rerelease them. No such thing as grails anymore with Mattel.

I like how the image of the characters are different from the blue releases. I feel like the Harts have to be super rare, seems like barely any people got them.

Added black card slaughter to the collection.... Anyone know how short printed the Harts are? I just noticed that the LJN belt is at the bottom of the window. For the black card releases, they should've put the WWF Tag Team Title there, instead.

It’s Mattel. As soon as the black cards start selling for $100+ on the secondary market they will just make more and rerelease them. No such thing as grails anymore with Mattel. The only grails that (still) exist are those of the unsigned. Bundy, LOD Road Warriors, Martel, Demolition, Tornado just to name a few. As the years go by and they still aren't back, it makes those figs more and more holy.

I'm still salty over Sarge. I was online as soon as it dropped and once my place in the queue got me to the checkout page it was sold out.

Honestly the only figures I think are safe to possibly even consider spending the crazy money some of these go for are the Legion of Doom and even then I would go shelling out 300 in box for them. Be patient every once in awhile they sneak through the cracks on eBay and you can score them at a good price. Back to the reason I think they’re the only ones. Hawks widow is in a road warriors tribute group and for the last few years has been adamant she will not resign a legends deal with WWE. The absolute only reason she did it the first time was out of respect for Animal. Apparently there was some things promised to them outside of wrestling figures that weren’t lived up to on top of the fact she’s still upset about the angle they did with Hawk at the end of his career. Now that unfortunately Animal is no longer here. She’s stated she’s not doing at all. Several posts are made in the group about it and she’s quick to respond with not happening while I’m on this earth. Take it for what it’s worth but the woman’s kept true to it now for what 12 years? While she lets other companies produce the figures and merchandise. As to the others like Akeem, Martel, Von Erich’s, Demoliton, Arn, Tully, Bundy stuff like that. Vince is gone and The Rock and Triple H are deeply appreciative of the past so is Bruce Prichard. I feel like it’s only a matter of time they get a deal if not maybe some of these others will make an elite scale. It’s personal opinion to you all if you want to spend. I’ve been collecting since day one and was able to grab these as they came out so my opinion may skew towards sensible spending. Mattel’s on a warpath of rereleasing and beating molds to death it seems. The quality is going down, little details are being over looked more and more. They’re going on 15 years now with the license, it’s becoming more of a rinse and repeat. Brian Pillman just came back so I’m sure they’ll just reuse his elites instead of making new molds and new figures. So if these guys come back they’ll do the same thing just rerelease the old figures. Be wise with your spending there’s no more “grails” if it becomes worth anything at all it’s just gonna get released again. That goes with any of these new figures too.

the thing ive always felt about grails was never the monetary value of the item after all those years, just the exclusivity felt of having acquired it. especially these days you really gotta jump through hoops to own certain figures. Hasbro has been re-releasing some black series figures and im a little salty because its like : 'man i had to set an alarm on my phone and take an early lunch break at work so i could get a pre-order in for this and now its just available again to everyone.'
wrestling figures it seems more of 'i had to drive to 23 different wal marts for a month straight before i came upon this figure'
