For me Edge's spear.
You se Goldberg's, Rhyno, Batista, their spear looked so impactful then you have Edge's
Him doing the spear against bigger guys like Mark Henry, Big Show, Batista just looked bad

Sgt. Slaughter's noogie. I wish I was making this up.

Piper using the sleeper always felt a bit off. i mean he's a wild and crazy street brawler, but he's ending his matches putting people in a standard submission hold and holding them until them they gradually pass out. It always felt a bit misaligned to his character to me, plus you had another superstar in DiBiase using it, but they used a cool name whenever he did it.

Butterfly Suplex for Andre was always a strange one. I always imagined he’d like sit on you or a bear hug or something that plays to his size. Especially because he barely picked you up off the ground for the suplex due to his physical condition.

Hogan’s leg drop. I always felt like they should have been able to kick out leg drop.

The Rock's Sharpshooter. It's a move that didn't suit him at all.
He never did it properly either and was always too far up the ankles which made it look less impactful.

Sgt. Slaughter's noogie. I wish I was making this up. Yeah, that was odd. I wonder why he couldn't just use his cobra clutch. Good thing they quickly switched to the camel clutch.

Technically, DiBiase did the cobra clutch, not the sleeper. However, they used it more as a sleeper hold than a submission hold. Strange. With Piper, as a heel, it kind of made a bit of sense, it would have been easier for him to turn the sleeper into a choke which would have fit his crazy persona.

Neidhart using the Cobra Clutch as a finisher during his first WCW run in 93 then the Camel Clutch in the WWF in 94

I never understood why Hulk Hogan boasted about having 24 inch pythons & then finished off his opponents with a leg drop. Why not a clothesline or bear hug?

Edge: Spear - His spear was a joke and always looked like he was hugging his opponent when performing the move. It didn’t help that he was doing it the same time Goldberg and Rhyno were performing some of the best spears ever.

Same when Christian does it too. Ultimate Warrior’s big splash seemed a bit lame for someone who did high impact power moves and wasn’t over 350 pounds, although now I look at it as more of an exclamation mark for the beatdown he’s just given.

That's how I always saw the big splash for Warrior. It wasn't really his finishing move; it was just the exclamation point at the end of a string of moves. He would do three clotheslines, the flying tackle and the gorilla press in succession, then end it with the splash. You could probably saw that those four moves combined were his actual finish.

I liked Edges spear before his neck injury, was more fast & impactful. It suited him as a signature but not really as a finisher tbh.
I remember in 04 thinking it looked lame compared to Goldberg, Rhyno etc... but it eventually grew on me around 05/06.

Exactly! Once Warrior blitzes you with that sequence, you’re probably done before the splash.

I always hated the "wide eyed hype-up" Edge would do before his spear.

In addition to Edge’s spear, I’ll throw out RVD’s split-legged moonassault. Yeah, it looked cool but never had the impact of a finisher IMO. I was super happy when he eventually changed his finisher to the frog splash.
I’ll also say Kane’s chokeslam looked pretty weak at times. For a guy his size, they looked sloppy from time to time and lacked impact. I felt the Tombstone fit his character better.
