For every step forward they take with a figure such as The Disciple, they take two steps back with a figure such as that RVD.
LoOkS gOoD eNoUgH shouldn't even be in their vocabulary.

Once again, I’m disheartened by some of these part choices made by Mattel. Now IF I can find that Van Dam at retails, I’ll have to swap the head and lower legs. That Disciple is perfect but the rest of the set is just eh.

Do the Harlem Heat tops come off? Probably if you remove the glue with a blow dryer on the waist section. Kind of makes me sad that this version of Booker might take away from a potential ‘98 Booker in upgraded version of this attire. |

If that's what makes them happy then cool but I just don't see the point in buying 3+ sets and calling yourself the king of figure hunting Well it's extremely frustrating to me, as a collector..... after driving around to Walmart for days, 20+ times looking for "Exclusives" and coming up empty handed..... to see these guys post pics in the parking lot of these brand new figs they just bought that are hard to find, and immediately say "For Sale" at double the price.... Frustrating indeed. |

The Disciple is BY FAR the best figure in the Monday Night Wars series -- by 100 miles. I'm usually pretty positive on Mattel -- but hard to believe this is the "BAF" -- and shows you what this line could have actually been if executed better. I thought the same. It’s weird that a BAF is the most detailed and accurate of the entire line. I still think it’s a waste that they’re doing a commish HBK when he had such epic looks during this period. Considering Commisioner Michaels is probably the rarest BAF ever, I'd say that's a smart choice for rerelease. They can release HBK figures anywhere, anytime. But the commissioner version was always going to be a BAF. That said, it is kind of wild that in all three of these waves, the BAF has been the most desirable figure. I don't want to be the conspiracy gal but it's pretty striking how much the BAF's stand out vs the main series. Teddy Long isn't high detail, but we've been hurting for referees for over a decade, so everyone wanted him and John Cone (also a BAF). That Lex was also epic and probably the second best figure of wave 1 (Best if you didn't need the re-release Austin). And now, Disciple blows every other figure in this wave out of the water. Just comes off as... funny, you know. |

I know toys aren't essential to these big retail giants like Walmart and Target, but a part of me wants to believe that Target has to love the complete incompetence walmart has with store exclusive items. I'll never understand the logic of making a Monday Night War line, the absolute hottest period of wrestling exclusive to a retailer that couldn't properly stock a ruthless aggression line... |
